About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and skilled South Indian Chef to work in a private residence. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in authentic South Indian cuisine and be capable of preparing fresh, hygienic, and high-quality meals according to the family's preferences.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare daily breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for the family.
Specialize in authentic South Indian cuisines, including Tamil, Karnataka, Kerala, and Andhra/Telangana-style dishes.
Prepare a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian South Indian dishes.
Prepare traditional items such as dosa, idli, vada, sambar, rasam, chutneys, rice varieties, curries, poriyal, kootu, avial, appam, puttu, biryani, and other regional specialties.
Prepare meals according to the family's taste, dietary preferences, and requirements.
Plan daily and weekly menus in consultation with the family.
Ensure freshness, quality, taste, and presentation of all food.
Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
Select and monitor the quality of vegetables, fruits, meat, seafood, spices, and other ingredients.
Coordinate grocery and ingredient requirements with the household staff or family.
Properly store ingredients and minimize food wastage.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, cooking equipment, and work areas.
Prepare special meals for guests and family functions when required.
Adapt recipes according to individual preferences, including low-oil, low-salt, or other dietary requirements.
Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion while working in the private residence.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a South Indian Chef.
Solid knowledge of authentic South Indian cooking techniques and recipes.
Experience working in a private residence, luxury household, hotel, resort, or premium hospitality workplace is preferred.
Ability to prepare both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
Good knowledge of traditional spices, ingredients, and cooking methods.
Ability to customize menus according to the family's preferences.
Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
Good time management and organizational skills.
Skilled, trustworthy, disciplined, and well-groomed.
Ability to work independently and manage the kitchen efficiently.
Willingness to work flexible hours based on the family's requirements.
Pay: ₹29,207.70 - ₹37,441.47 per month
