Main jobs and responsibilities:
Hearing assessment
Conduct hearing tests such as pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and tympanometry.
Identify the type and degree of hearing loss.
Diagnosis and evaluation
Assess hearing and balance problems in children and adults.
Interpret test results and identify possible causes of hearing difficulties.
Refer patients to ENT specialists or other healthcare specialists when necessary.
Hearing-aid services
Recommend appropriate hearing aids based on the patient's needs.
Select, fit, program, and adjust hearing aids.
Provide counselling and training on hearing-aid use and maintenance.
Rehabilitation
Provide auditory rehabilitation and communication training.
Help patients adapt to hearing aids or cochlear implants.
Teach communication strategies to patients and their families.
Pediatric audiology
Screen and assess hearing in newborns, infants, and children.
Monitor hearing development and support children with hearing loss.
Work with parents, teachers, and other professionals when needed.




Balance assessment
Evaluate patients with dizziness, vertigo, and balance problems.
Perform appropriate vestibular/balance tests and assist in management or referral.
Patient counselling

Conduct hearing-screening programs in schools, workplaces, hospitals, and communities.
Educate people about hearing conservation and prevention of noise-induced hearing loss.
Documentation and follow-up
Maintain accurate patient records and test reports.
Monitor patients' hearing and treatment progress through regular follow-ups.
Research and career development
Participate in clinical research and awareness programs.
