Job Description

We are looking for a responsible and customer-focused Cashier to join our team at Sri Murugan Metal. The candidate will be responsible for handling customer billing, cash transactions, payment collection, and maintaining accurate daily cash records.

Key Responsibilities
Handle cash, UPI, card and other customer payments accurately.
Prepare and process customer bills using the billing system.
Verify billing details, discounts, returns and payment entries.
Maintain accurate cash and payment records.
Perform daily cash closing and reconciliation.
Handle cash handover and deposit procedures as instructed.
Coordinate with the Accounts and Sales teams regarding billing and payment issues.
Check and report billing discrepancies immediately.
Maintain proper records of credit/debit transactions.
Provide polite and professional customer service.
Follow company billing, cash-handling and internal control procedures.
Support other billing and cashier-related activities as assigned by the Branch Manager.

Requirements




Previous experience as a Cashier / Billing Executive / Accounts Assistant is preferred.
Basic knowledge of billing and cash-handling procedures.
Positive numerical and calculation skills.
Basic computer knowledge.
Knowledge of POS/billing software is an advantage.
Good communication and customer-handling skills.
Honest, responsible and attentive to detail.
Ability to work as part of a team.

Qualification

Minimum: degree
Candidates with relevant cashier/billing/accounts experience will be preferred.

Experience

1–3 years preferred in Cashier, Billing, Retail or Accounts-related work.

Salary

₹13,000 – ₹22,000 per month, depending on experience and skills.
