Role Summary: Operating oxy-fuel and manual/semi-automatic gas cutting equipment to profile heavy plates and structural sections for trailer bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Exact cutting and edge preparation of steel plates for trailer side walls, flooring, twist-lock housings, and gusset plates.
•
Performing edge beveling (V-prep and X-prep) on thick plates prior to full-penetration joint welding.
•
Operating Pug cutting machines and manual torches according to fabrication drawings and nesting patterns.
•
Maintaining torch tips, gas hoses, and pressure regulators for minimal kerf and slag formation.
Qualifications & Requirements: Experience: Minimum 5 Years in heavy steel fabrication or trailer manufacturing. Expert knowledge of oxygen-acetylene/LPG pressure settings.
