Role & responsibilities

The Fireman is responsible for preventing, detecting, and responding to fire and emergency situations within the manufacturing plant. The role includes operating and maintaining firefighting equipment, conducting routine inspections, supporting emergency preparedness activities, and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations to protect employees, assets, and the setting.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor the plant premises for fire hazards and unsafe conditions.
Respond promptly to fire alarms, emergencies, and rescue situations.
Operate firefighting equipment, including hydrants, fire pumps, extinguishers, hose reels, and foam systems.
Conduct regular inspections of firefighting equipment and ensure it is in serviceable condition.
Perform routine testing of fire pumps, hydrant systems, sprinklers, fire alarms, and emergency lighting.
Participate in fire prevention activities and identify potential fire risks.




Assist in conducting emergency evacuation drills and fire safety training for employees.
Ensure fire exits, emergency routes, and firefighting equipment remain accessible at all times.
Maintain records of inspections, equipment maintenance, drills, and emergency incidents.
Coordinate with local fire authorities during emergencies when required.
Assist in rescue operations and administer basic first aid until medical assistance arrives.
Support EHS initiatives and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
Report safety observations, incidents, and near misses to the EHS department.
Maintain housekeeping standards in fire stations and emergency response areas.
Perform any other safety-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications
Diploma in Fire & Safety
Certification in Fire Fighting, Industrial Safety, or Fire & Safety Management is preferred.
Valid firefighting or emergency response certification, where applicable.
