Summary

As a Go Developer, a typical day involves designing, developing, and supporting scalable backend applications for OTT and digital media platforms. The role focuses on API development, AWS cloud integration, performance optimization, and production support using Go and cloud-native technologies.

The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions while following Agile and Dev Ops practices.

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform independently as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Go application development.
Design, develop, and enhance backend services using the Go programming language.
Build and consume RESTful and gRPC APIs supporting catalog management, metadata, entitlement, playback authorization, and device registration.
Integrate applications with AWS services including AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, AWS Fargate, Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon RDS, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, Amazon Event Bridge, Amazon Kinesis, and Amazon API Gateway.
Develop efficient Go code using interfaces, structures, goroutines, channels, context propagation, and structured error handling.
Define API contracts, data models, concurrency models, caching strategies, and resiliency patterns.
Lead feature delivery from design through deployment and production stabilization.
Develop and maintain unit,



integration, and regression test suites.
Participate in code reviews, CI/CD processes, and release activities.
Analyze production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve performance issues.
Support deployment validation, rollback procedures, and operational readiness activities.
Provide effort estimates, technical guidance, and risk assessments.
Mentor developers and collaborate with architects, product teams, and stakeholders.

Participate in on-call and production support activities.

Skilled & Technical Skills

Must-Have Skills

Solid experience in Go programming and AWS cloud development.
Experience building RESTful and GRPC APIs.
Strong knowledge of Go interfaces, structures, slices, maps, goroutines, channels, context propagation, error handling, and Go modules.
Experience with Go frameworks and routers such as Gin, Echo, Chi, or net/http.
Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.

Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, AWS Fargate, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon S3, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, Amazon Event Bridge, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon Cloud Watch, and AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM).

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
Experience with Go testing table-driven tests, mocking, benchmarking, profiling, and race detection.
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker,



and Infrastructure as Code.
Experience implementing Blue-Green and Canary deployment strategies.
Ability to troubleshoot distributed applications using logs, metrics, and monitoring tools.
Experience leading production incident management and technical reviews.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Good-To-Have Skills

Experience in OTT, Streaming, Broadcast, or Digital Media platforms.
Knowledge of HLS, DASH, DRM technologies including Wide vine, Play Ready, and Fair Play.
Understanding of Content Delivery Networks (CDN), Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI), and Video-on-Demand platforms.
Experience with AWS Elemental services including Media Live, Media Package, Media Connect, Media Convert, and Media Tailor.
Experience with Amazon Cloud Front.
Experience with Kafka, Amazon Kinesis, and AWS Step Functions.
Experience with Terraform, AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK), or AWS Cloud Formation.
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Redis, and Amazon Elasti Cache.
Experience with Grafana, Datadog, Elastic Stack, Splunk, and Open Telemetry.
AWS Developer Associate or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
Exposure to Service Now, Jira Service Management, and IT Service Management processes.

Experience supporting managed services and SLA-driven environments.

Additional Information

Minimum 9 years of relevant experience in Go and AWS cloud development.

Total experience requirement: 18 years (9+9 model).

Go Programming Language and AWS Cloud are the mandatory primary skills.
Experience in Agile, Dev Ops, and cloud-native environments is preferred.
Participation in production support and on-call activities may be required.

Minimum 15 years of full-time education required.
