JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Biomedical Engineer to manage, maintain, and monitor biomedical equipment and ensure their safe and efficient operation across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate the Biomedical Engineering team and daily activities.
- Plan and monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance of biomedical equipment.
- Ensure proper functioning and safety of critical medical equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for AMC/CMC, repairs, calibration, and servicing.
- Maintain equipment records, service reports, calibration certificates, and maintenance logs.
- Monitor equipment downtime and ensure timely corrective action.
- Support departments in equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and handover.
- Conduct periodic inspection of biomedical equipment and identify potential risks.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, statutory requirements, and NABH standards.
- Assist in preparation and maintenance of biomedical equipment-related documents for NABH and regulatory inspections.
- Coordinate with clinical and support departments regarding equipment requirements and technical issues.
- Assist in procurement by providing technical specifications and evaluating biomedical equipment.




- Conduct user training on the safe and proper operation of medical equipment.
- Ensure proper inventory and asset management of biomedical equipment.
- Prepare periodic reports on equipment maintenance, breakdowns, AMC/CMC status, and performance.
- Handle emergency technical issues involving critical care and life-support equipment.

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering
- Relevant certification/training in biomedical equipment maintenance will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 5–8 years of relevant experience in a hospital/healthcare setting
- Experience in handling critical care and medical equipment is preferred.
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals will be an added advantage.
