Job Title: IT Manager
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Head of Institution / Director / Administrative Head
Experience: 20+ Years
Industry Preference: Educational Technology (EduTech) / Education Sector

Job Summary

The IT Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the institution’s complete IT infrastructure, technology operations, digital platforms, and information systems. The role requires a highly experienced IT professional capable of overseeing large-scale IT operations, ensuring system reliability and cybersecurity, supporting academic and administrative technology, and driving digital transformation across the institution.

Experience in the EduTech or education sector is highly preferred, with robust exposure to ERP, LMS, smart classrooms, digital learning platforms, and technology-enabled institutional operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Infrastructure & Operations

- Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, software, and cloud systems.
- Manage LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, and network performance.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of IT systems across campuses.
- Oversee IT asset management, inventory, and lifecycle planning.

2. Educational Technology & Digital Systems

- Manage and support LMS, ERP, Smart Classroom, digital learning, and other educational technology platforms.
- Work closely with academic and administrative teams to implement technology-driven solutions.
- Ensure smooth functioning of online learning, digital examinations, admissions, and other technology-enabled processes.
- Identify and implement innovative EduTech solutions to improve institutional efficiency.

3. ERP & Management Information Systems

- Oversee institutional ERP systems covering admissions, attendance, fees, HR, examinations, finance, and administration.
- Coordinate with ERP vendors for implementation, customization, upgrades, and technical support.
- Ensure data accuracy, system integration, and effective MIS reporting for management.
- Drive automation of administrative and academic processes.

4. Cybersecurity & Data Protection





- Establish and monitor IT security policies, backup systems, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Protect institutional systems and data from cyber threats, unauthorized access, malware, and security breaches.
- Oversee firewalls, antivirus systems, network security, access controls, and data protection measures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IT and data protection requirements.

5. IT Support & Service Management

- Lead the IT support team and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Provide effective technology support to management, staff, faculty, and students.
- Establish IT support procedures, service standards, and escalation mechanisms.
- Conduct user training and awareness programs for institutional IT systems.

6. Vendor, AMC & Technology Management

- Manage IT vendors, service providers, software partners, and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC).
- Evaluate technology solutions, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective IT operations.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure timely delivery of services and support.
- Recommend suitable technologies based on institutional requirements.

7. Digital Transformation & Innovation

- Lead digital transformation initiatives across academic and administrative functions.
- Explore emerging technologies such as AI, automation, cloud computing, digital labs, and advanced learning platforms.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology.
- Support the development and implementation of mobile applications, online services, and digital communication platforms.

8. IT Governance, Policies & Compliance

- Develop and maintain IT policies, SOPs, standards, and technical documentation.
- Conduct periodic IT audits and infrastructure assessments.




- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable statutory requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation of IT systems, assets, licenses, and infrastructure.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Extensive experience in IT infrastructure and technology management
- Strong knowledge of networking, servers, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems
- Strong understanding of ERP, LMS, EduTech, and digital learning platforms
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection, and disaster recovery
- Experience in managing large IT teams and multi-location operations
- Strong vendor, AMC, procurement, and contract management skills
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to lead digital transformation and technology innovation

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, ITIL, CISSP, or equivalent will be an added advantage.

Experience

- Minimum 20 years of overall experience in IT management / technology operations.
- Experience in EduTech or the education sector is highly preferred.
- Experience managing IT infrastructure, ERP, LMS, cybersecurity, digital platforms, and technology teams will be an advantage.
- Experience handling large-scale or multi-campus institutional IT operations is preferred.

Working Conditions

- Full-time, campus-based position
- May require extended working hours during admissions, examinations, major technology implementations, system upgrades, or critical IT incidents.
- May require coordination with multiple campuses, vendors, and technology partners.

Pay: ₹17,658.57 - ₹67,640.53 per month
