The opportunity:

As a Secondary Design Engineer at Hitachi, Ltd., you will play a crucial role in the development and refinement of electrical systems, focusing on the secondary circuit design for power infrastructure projects. You will contribute to ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our cutting-edge solutions.

How you'll make an impact:

. Design and develop secondary electrical circuits for various power systems, including substations, transmission lines, and industrial facilities.
. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials (BOMs) using CAD software.
. Perform calculations and simulations for protection coordination, relay settings, and control logic.
. Collaborate with primary design engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate secondary systems with overall project requirements.
. Conduct technical reviews and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and client specifications (e.g., IEC, ANSI, IEEE).
. Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) of secondary equipment.
. Troubleshoot design issues and provide technical support during project execution and commissioning phases.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
. Prepare technical reports and documentation for project deliverables.

. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:

. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
. Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in secondary circuit design for power systems.
. Strong understanding of protection relays, control systems, and SCADA integration.
. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., E3, EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, ) for electrical design.
. Familiarity with relevant international and national electrical standards and codes.
. Experience with protection coordination studies and relay setting calculations.
. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
. Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
. Fluency in English (written and spoken).
