Must-Have Skills: (The following 5 skills are required for this role)

- Data Center Network Design (spine-leaf / CLOS)
Hands-on experience designing modern spine-leaf or CLOS fabrics using BGP EVPN/VXLAN for large-scale Layer 2/3 overlay networks in enterprise or hyperscale environments.
- Multi-cloud Networking (AWS / Azure / GCP)
Proficiency architecting connectivity across at least two major cloud providers including transit gateway, VPC peering, private endpoints, direct connect / ExpressRoute, and cloud-native firewalling.
- Routing & Switching Protocols
Deep expertise in BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and QoS. Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex routing policies and traffic engineering across multi- vendor environments.
- Network Security & Zero Trust
Strong understanding of micro segmentation, firewall policy design, TLS/SSL inspection, SASE frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or FedRAMP.
- Infrastructure-as-Code & Automation
Practical experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tooling to automate network provisioning, configuration management, and change workflows in CI/CD pipelines.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

- SD-WAN & SASE Architecture




Familiarity with SD-WAN platforms (Cisco Viptela, VMware VeloCloud, Palo Alto Prisma) and cloud-delivered security services that converge network and security in a unified fabric.
- Network Programmability (Python / Go)
Ability to develop custom automation scripts, NETCONF/YANG integrations, or REST API tooling that extends vendor platforms and accelerates operational workflows.
- Data Center Physical & Power Design
Working knowledge of power distribution, cooling design (hot/cold aisle, liquid cooling), cable management best practices, and data center standards such as TIA- 942 or Uptime Institute Tier ratings.
- Network Observability & AIOps
Experience with streaming telemetry, Grafana/Prometheus stacks, Kentik, ThousandEyes, or similar tools to build proactive monitoring, anomaly detection, and capacity-planning dashboards.
- Industry Certifications
Relevant certifications such as CCIE (R&S;, DC, or SP), AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer add significant value.

Additional Requirements:

- Travel:Occasional travel to data center or colocation sites for design reviews and commissioning.
- Clearance : Ability to pass background screening; active clearance a plus for government or regulated verticals.
- Certs (preferred):CCIE (R&S;, DC, or SP), AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer, or GCP Professional Cloud Network Engineer.
