Job Purpose

The Senior Design Consultant will provide technical and design expertise in the relevant engineering specialization, supporting vehicle/technology development, engineering design, technical documentation, and design-related activities. The role requires strong technical knowledge, professional experience, and proficiency in engineering design tools and software.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical consultancy and design inputs for engineering and technology-related projects.
- Support the development, review, and validation of engineering designs and technical solutions.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Undertake design activities using AutoCAD and relevant engineering design tools.
- Support design activities within 3D CAD/PLM environments, wherever applicable.
- Review existing designs and recommend improvements based on technical requirements and project objectives.
- Provide technical inputs for vehicle and technology development activities.
- Conduct technical analysis, design reviews, and feasibility assessments.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, project, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues.
- Support preparation of technical reports, presentations, specifications, and other project documentation.
- Provide expert guidance in the candidate's relevant technical specialization.
- Participate in technical meetings, reviews, discussions, and project consultations.
- Mentor junior design and engineering personnel, where required.
- Ensure design outputs comply with applicable technical standards, specifications, and project requirements.

Minimum Qualification





The candidate should preferably be one of the following:

- Veteran Design Officer / Sailor with relevant technical experience; or
- Graduate Engineer in a relevant engineering discipline; or
- Diploma holder in a relevant technical discipline.

Experience

- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in engineering, design, or academia relevant to undertaking vehicle/technology-related assignments.
- Relevant experience in engineering design, technical consultancy, research, development, or academic activities will be considered.
- The experience requirement may be relaxed based on suitability for candidates holding a Ph.D. in a relevant technical discipline.
- Relevant domain-specific experience will be preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- AutoCAD proficiency is essential.
- Knowledge and experience of working in a 3D CAD/PLM environment is preferable.
- Solid technical and engineering knowledge in the relevant specialization.
- Good understanding of engineering design principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent technical communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.

The Senior Design Consultant will be expected to provide technical and design consultancy, contribute to engineering and technology development activities, support design reviews, and provide domain-specific technical solutions as required by the project.
