1. Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Production Planner to manage production planning, scheduling, and monitoring activities for the manufacturing plant. The role will be responsible for ensuring on-time production and delivery by optimizing production capacity, manpower, material availability, inventory levels, and shop-floor sequencing.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in PPC, MRP, SAP PP/MM, production scheduling, inventory planning, and cross-functional coordination , preferably within the furniture or mattress manufacturing industry.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Planning Scheduling

- Prepare and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders, demand, inventory, and plant capacity.
- Convert Sales Orders (SO) and Stock Transfer Orders (STO) into Planned Orders and Production Orders.
- Develop production schedules considering machine capacity, manpower availability, material readiness, and order priorities .
- Sequence production orders to optimize line utilization and minimize downtime and changeover losses.
- Monitor production progress and revise schedules based on operational requirements.

B. Material Inventory Planning

- Coordinate with Procurement and Stores/Warehouse to ensure timely availability of raw materials for planned production.
- Monitor Raw Material (RM), Semi-Finished Goods (SFG), and Work-in-Progress (WIP) inventory.
- Maintain appropriate Material Stock Levels (MSL) and identify potential shortages in advance.
- Track material shortages and coordinate with relevant teams for timely resolution.




- Ensure production plans are aligned with material availability to avoid line stoppages.

C. Production Monitoring Adherence

- Track actual production vs. planned production on a daily basis.
- Monitor production plan adherence and identify deviations, delays, and bottlenecks.
- Coordinate with Production teams to ensure adherence to planned schedules and order priorities.
- Escalate critical production and material constraints and drive corrective actions.
- Monitor shop-floor order sequencing and ensure schedule adherence.

D. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with Production, Procurement, Quality, Stores/Warehouse, Sales, and Dispatch teams.
- Coordinate with Production and Factory teams regarding capacity constraints and production priorities.
- Align production schedules with dispatch and delivery requirements to achieve OTIF targets .
- Participate in regular production review meetings and provide planning updates.

E. Capacity Planning Optimization

- Analyze machine, line, and manpower capacity to develop feasible production schedules.
- Identify capacity constraints and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Optimize plant capacity utilization while balancing production priorities and inventory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve planning efficiency and reduce production bottlenecks.

F. MIS, Reporting Analytics

- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly PPC/MIS reports .
- Track and report:
- Production Plan vs. Actual
- Production Plan Adherence
- Schedule Adherence
- OTIF / On-Time Delivery
- RM, SFG WIP Inventory
- Material Shortages
- Capacity Utilization





- Analyze planning data and provide actionable insights to management.
- Maintain planning dashboards using Excel/Google Sheets and Power BI where applicable.

3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Production Plan Adherence - Planned vs. actual production achievement
- OTIF / On-Time Delivery - Orders delivered as per committed schedule
- Schedule Adherence - Compliance with planned production sequence
- Inventory Days / WIP - Optimization of RM, SFG and WIP levels
- Capacity Utilization - Effective utilization of machines and production lines
- Material Availability - Reduction in production disruptions due to material shortages

4. Qualifications Technical Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering , or a related technical discipline.
- 58 years of experience in Production Planning Control (PPC).
- Experience in furniture, mattress, upholstery, foam, home furnishing, or related manufacturing will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, MRP, capacity planning, and inventory control .
- Hands-on experience with SAP PP and MM modules .
- Strong understanding of Sales Orders (SO), Stock Transfer Orders (STO), Planned Orders, Production Orders, and MRP processes .
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets .
- Knowledge of Power BI for reporting and dashboards will be an added advantage.
