We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer / Mechanical Design Engineer proficient in both AutoCAD and SolidWorks. In this role, you will be responsible for taking concepts, rough sketches, or specifications and transforming them into accurate 3D digital models and accurate 2D manufacturing blueprints. You will bridge the gap between creative concept and physical production, ensuring all designs are optimized for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

- 3D Modeling: Develop complex 3D parts, large assemblies, and parametric models using SolidWorks.
- 2D Drafting: Generate precise 2D technical drawings, manufacturing blueprints, and system layouts using AutoCAD in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO).
- Design Optimization: Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to reduce material waste and production costs.
- Engineering Validation: Perform basic tolerance stack-up analysis and stress calculations to ensure component structural integrity.
- BOM Management: Create and maintain comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM), sourcing hardware, and specifying material finishes.
- Collaboration: Coordinate closely with manufacturing teams, machinists,



and project managers to troubleshoot design issues on the shop floor.
- Revision Control: Manage, update, and archive engineering change notices (ECNs) to ensure drawing databases remain accurate.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Software Mastery: Minimum of [X] years of professional, daily experience using SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D).
- Technical Drawing: Advanced understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;).
- Industry Knowledge: Hands-on experience designing for [insert specific processes, e.g., sheet metal fabrication / injection molding / CNC machining / structural steel].
