Job Title: Hostess/Host

Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests. The ideal candidate will create a welcoming atmosphere, manage seating efficiently, and support smooth restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet and welcome guests promptly with a warm, friendly attitude
- Manage the waitlist and accurately estimate wait times
- Seat guests according to table availability and server rotation
- Answer phone calls and take reservations
- Maintain an organized and clean host/hostess stand and entrance area
- Present menus and inform guests of specials or promotions
- Communicate with servers and kitchen staff regarding seating flow and special requests
- Address guest concerns or escalate issues to a manager when necessary
- Assist with clearing, resetting, or bussing tables during peak times if needed
- Monitor dining room capacity and coordinate with management for efficient table turnover




- Handle to-go orders or coordinate pickups when applicable

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in customer service or hospitality is a plus, but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced workplace
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and professional appearance
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Skills:

- Familiarity with reservation software (e.g., OpenTable, Resy)
- Basic math skills for handling waitlists and payments (if applicable)
- Bilingual abilities a plus, depending on location

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally (for menus, supplies, etc.)
- Ability to stand for long periods and move quickly through the dining area
