Para-Vet / Veterinary Doctor Assistant

Job Overview

We are looking for a caring, responsible, and dedicated Para-Vet / Veterinary Doctor Assistant to support our veterinary team in providing quality medical care and welfare services to animals.

The candidate will work closely with the Veterinary Doctor and will be responsible for assisting in animal treatment, field visits, vaccination, basic medical procedures, animal care, follow-ups, and maintaining treatment records.

Key Responsibilities

* Visit the field and animal locations as required for animal health check-ups and treatment support.

* Assist the Veterinary Doctor during clinical examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and medical procedures.

* Provide basic animal care and treatment under the guidance and consultation of the Veterinary Doctor.

* Assist with vaccination programs, including preparation, handling, administration as authorized, and maintaining vaccination records.

* Assist in wound dressing, cleaning, bandaging, medication, injections, and other basic veterinary procedures as directed by the Veterinary Doctor.

* Monitor animals before and after treatment and report any changes in their health or behavior to the doctor.

* Identify animals requiring urgent veterinary attention and immediately coordinate with the Veterinary Doctor.

* Assist in handling, restraining, transporting, and safely managing animals during treatment.

* Conduct regular follow-up visits to monitor the recovery of treated animals.

* Maintain accurate records of treatments, vaccinations, medicines, animal health status, and field visits.

* Ensure proper handling, storage, and availability of veterinary medicines and medical supplies.

* Coordinate with animal caregivers, shelter/gaushala staff, and other team members regarding animal health and treatment.





* Respond responsibly to animal health emergencies and coordinate with the Veterinary Doctor for appropriate medical intervention.

* Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe setting during treatment and animal-care activities.

* Promote animal welfare, compassionate handling, and responsible care at all times.

* Perform other veterinary support and animal-care duties assigned by the Veterinary Doctor or management.

* Willingness to work in outdoor/field conditions and handle emergency situations when required.

* Basic record-keeping and documentation skills.

Qualification

* Relevant qualification/certification in Veterinary Assistance, Para-Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, Livestock Management, or a related field.

* Candidates with relevant practical experience in animal care, veterinary clinics, gaushalas, animal shelters, or field animal-care work may be considered.

* Freshers with relevant qualifications and a strong interest in animal welfare may also apply.

Role & Work Environment

This is a field-oriented animal-care position requiring regular interaction with animals and coordination with the Veterinary Doctor. The candidate should be physically active, compassionate, and comfortable working in different field locations and outdoor conditions.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure timely, safe, compassionate, and doctor-guided veterinary care for animals.
