Senior Accountant & Auditor

This role owns RWS's day-to-day accounting and internal financial controls — consolidating site-level cash records, keeping statutory compliance current, and strengthening audit discipline as the company scales its industrial and PSU project work.

About RWSRudra Waterproofing Services (RWS), founded in 2022 and headquartered in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, provides waterproofing solutions and distributes construction chemicals — polymers, concrete admixtures, polyurethane systems, special repair mortars, and epoxy grouts. RWS is an authorised distributor for Fosroc, MYK Arment, Chryso by Saint-Gobain, STP, and Berger, with clients including CPWD, Kalpataru Projects International, and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, and a growing base of PSU and EPC accounts.

As RWS scales its project and tender work, it is building a formal finance function to bring discipline to site-level cash handling, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.

Role Purpose & Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant & Auditor owns RWS's books, statutory compliance, and internal financial controls spanning both routine accounting and an internal-audit function across the company's head office and project sites.

Accounting

1. Maintain complete books of accounts (ledgers, journals) for RWS's waterproofing services and construction-chemicals distribution business.
2. Consolidate and verify petty cashbooks and site-expense reports submitted by field/site supervisors across active project sites.
3. Process employee salary computations, reimbursements, and statutory deductions (PF/ESI/TDS as applicable).
4. Manage day-to-day banking — reconciliations, vendor payments, and follow-up on customer receivables and collections.
5. Prepare monthly cash flow statements, P&L;, and balance-sheet summaries for management review.
6. Handle GST and TDS return filing and other statutory compliance, liaising with RWS's CA/tax consultant where needed.
7. Support tender costing and bid documentation (BOQ costing, margin models,



financial eligibility documents) for PSU/EPC tenders.
8. Maintain vendor and principal-brand (Fosroc, MYK Arment, Chryso, STP, Berger) purchase records, invoicing, and payment tracking.

Audit

1. Conduct periodic internal audits of site-level petty cash and expense claims, verifying accuracy and flagging discrepancies.
2. Review and strengthen internal financial controls across sites and the head office.
3. Prepare for and coordinate statutory/external audits, ensuring timely closure of audit queries.
4. Maintain audit trails and documentation for all financial transactions.
5. Identify cost leakages, irregular expense patterns, or non-compliance, and report findings to management with corrective recommendations.

- Candidate RequirementsB.Com/M.Com; CA (Inter) or CMA (Inter) preferred, a qualified CA is a strong plus
- 5–8 years of experience in accounting and/or internal audit, ideally in construction, trading/distribution, or project-based businesses
- Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Tally and MS Excel; ERP experience (Odoo) is an advantage
- Experience handling multi-site/field cash disbursement and reconciliation is a strong advantage
- High attention to detail and integrity, with the ability to work independently
- Valuable communication skills to coordinate with site staff, vendors, and the company's external CA/auditor
