The team is seeking a Genset Testing Engineer who will be responsible for a wide range of tests, including Design Verification Checks, Torque Tests, Ductor Tests (Contact Resistance Tests), Pre and Post Insulation Resistance Tests, High Pot Tests, Breaker Operation Tests, Primary Injection Tests (for breakers above 225A), Secondary Injection Tests, ATS/Breaker Interlock Tests, BMS/SCADA and Metering Verification, Overcurrent and Earth Fault Relay Tests, Other Protection Relay Tests, Ammeter and Voltmeter Tests, and Switchboard Control Function Tests. The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in genset testing procedures and be capable of ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of gensets through these comprehensive assessments. - The engineer should be well versed in below testing on genset and switchboard panel.
- Perform Design Verification Checks to ensure gensets adhere to project specifications.
- Perform Pre and Post Insulation Resistance Tests to evaluate insulation quality.
- Execute High Pot Tests to assess the dielectric strength of electrical components.
- Conduct Ductor Tests (Contact Resistance Tests) to assess electrical connections.
- Conduct Breaker Operation Tests to verify the functionality of circuit breakers.
- Perform Primary Injection Tests (for breakers above 225A)
to assess performance under high current conditions.
- Execute Secondary Injection Tests to validate the accuracy of protection systems.
- Conduct ATS/Breaker Interlock Tests to ensure proper coordination and interlocking.
- Perform BMS/SCADA and Metering Verification to verify communication and metering accuracy.
- Conduct Overcurrent and Earth Fault Relay Tests to assess protection relay performance.
- Execute Other Protection Relay Tests to validate various protective functions.
- Perform Ammeter and Voltmeter Tests to ensure accurate current and voltage readings.
- Conduct Switchboard Control Function Tests to verify proper control panel functionality.
- Vibration Tests, including measurements, to assess the stability and performance of the genset.
- Carry out Fuel Consumption Tests to measure and verify fuel efficiency.
- Execute Step Load Tests to assess the genset's performance under various load conditions, complying with ISO8528 Class G3 standards.
- Perform Transient Load Tests, evaluating the genset's response to sudden load changes.
- Perform Thermography Tests to identify any abnormal temperature patterns in the genset.
- Load Shedding Test: Assess the genset's response to controlled load shedding scenarios.
- Grid Synchronization Test: Verify the ability of the genset to synchronize with the grid seamlessly.
- Cold Start Test: Evaluate the genset's performance under cold start conditions.
