We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Development Manager - Exports. The ideal candidate would have hands-on experience and network for enabling business generation and scaling in international markets. Key traits to win in this role include ownership, attention to detail, PnL understanding, strong inter-personal relation building. Focus geographies for this role are USA, Canada and UK, in the Phase I, but the future opportunity is beyond these.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate demand in all suitable channels in the aforementioned countries – Ethnic retail (Indian/ Pakistani/ Middle Eastern etc.), Mainstream retail, Convenience stores, Vending Machines, Travel Retail, etc.
- Prepare the customer proposals which include margin workings while ensuring healthy PnL for the account, presentation pitch decks for specific asks from customers.
- Maintain and strengthen relation with existing customers and increase the account size.
- Analyse the secondary sales in the target geographies by retrieving data from distribution partners in target countries.
- Ensure timely payment collection and adherence to aligned payment terms.
- Coordinate with logistics and operations lead to keep a track on timely delivery and keep customer aptly informed of status.
- Understand the country wise and customer wise compliance & packaging requirements and work with in-house product development team, packaging team and consultants to build a market ready proposition.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in lead generation, lead conversion, commercial negotiations, customer onboarding, account management and target market demand generation.
- Solid aptitude with numbers and an attention to detail.
- Good with Excel, Powerpoint.
- Excellent in verbal and written communication in English.
- Self-motivated learner with ability to leverage AI tools (like ChatGPT) for problem-solving and efficiency.
