Job Purpose

The Design Expert will provide high-level technical expertise and advisory support in submarine design, engineering, construction, and operations. The role requires extensive experience in naval submarines and the ability to provide expert guidance on design norms, operational practices, technical documentation, and domain-specific engineering requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert technical guidance on submarine design and engineering activities.
- Review and advise on submarine design concepts, engineering requirements, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Provide inputs on design norms, standards, construction practices, and operational requirements applicable to naval submarines.
- Support technical evaluation and review of submarine-related design and engineering proposals.
- Provide expert advice on design challenges and recommend technically appropriate solutions.
- Review and contribute to the preparation, verification, and finalization of technical documents, reports, specifications, and design-related documentation.
- Provide domain expertise relating to submarine design, construction, and operations.
- Support interdisciplinary technical discussions and provide expert inputs to engineering and design teams.
- Advise on technical risks, design feasibility, and implementation considerations.
- Mentor and guide engineering/design personnel on submarine-specific technical matters.
- Participate in technical reviews, meetings, design assessments, and other activities as required.




- Ensure that technical recommendations are aligned with applicable naval and engineering practices.

Minimum Qualification & Experience

- 25+ years of relevant expertise and experience in Navy, Shipyard, Design, Engineering, or Academia, with significant specialization in submarine-related activities.
- Should have at least 15 years of experience in submarine-related design, construction, or operational appointments in the Indian Navy and/or Shipyard.
- Extensive understanding of submarine design, construction, and operational practices.
- Candidates with distinguished expertise and substantial contribution to the submarine domain will be preferred.
