We are seeking an experienced Vertex Tax Engine Consultant to provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for our indirect tax platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Vertex O Series or Cloud, robust integration and debugging skills, and the ability to troubleshoot complex tax calculation issues across ERP and CRM systems including Salesforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 support for Vertex tax engine issues, including transaction debugging, error resolution, and root cause analysis
- Analyze and resolve support tickets with a structured troubleshooting approach covering payload validation, exemption verification, tax mapping, and integration failures
- Test, debug, and perform resends of transactions within the Vertex platform using available tools and log files
- Perform historical transaction retrieval and conduct taxability analysis by geography and product category
- Identify and validate issues related to tax exemptions, product/service mappings, and customer configurations
- Coordinate with ERP teams and upstream systems (SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, or similar) to resolve integration-related tax discrepancies.
