Job Purpose: Assisting the Area Manager (Transport) in his operations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

To ensure achievement of targeted outcomes as efficiently as possible while at all times complying with the best standards.

• To review the transport related service standards, quality and to ensure that the requirements of users are met.
• Taking feedback for the services provided to enhance continuous improvement in the services offered
• Ensuring compliance to Transport related procedures and requirements
• Planning of schedules of vehicles with best utilization of resources available.
• Ensuring timeliness of services which is one of the essences of this function





Coordinate and provide analysis & insights, inputs/information, for various levels of MIS as defined IN ORDER TO enable timely decision making to achieve business plan objectives

• Periodic MIS reporting in designated formats.
• To provide the monthly reports to the HOD for the activities pertaining to Transport management.
• To reduce transport issues and complaints by collecting the data’s of actual feedbacks.
• Monthly MIS on critical transport issues w.r.t issues raised v/s resolved.

To achieve the team's objectives and continue to do so over time.

• To define the role clarity for all the agency staff and contractors
• To define the performance contract for the identified positions & conduct Reviews, recognize & reward based on the performance
• Proper manning of positions considering the complexity and vastness of the area to be covered.
• Initiate development activities to enhance the skill levels of each team member.

To develop plans that are supported by key stakeholders and are capable of driving to zero incidents & also that satisfies short and long term business goals

• To assist in finalizing the annual transport budget.
• Planning the activities for procuring of vehicles needed
• Route planning to reduce travel distance and hence cost.
• To plan and initiate the annual contract renewals well in advance. Monitor Opex expenses w.r.t annual budgets closely.





Lead the development of a comprehensive world-class transport services to maximise the satisfaction level of the employees travelling to and in around the refinery premises

• To facilitate in implement, monitor & develop employee friendly systems and procedures for catering
• Define timelines and schedules.
• To develop, implement the employee feedback system with a view to improve the transport services.

To achieve a safe and healthy workplace

• To ensure basic medical aid is available in buses plying for employees.
• To ensure all the travelling passengers are complying safely in the transport facility provided.
• Champion the use of the tenets of operational excellence by applying them to all activities across the department
To ensure the residents adhere to safety norms while boarding the vehicles.

Ensure compliance towards all environmental legislative requirements. Ensure compliance to company standards laid down if any.

• To Reduce fuel consumption.
• Ensure minimum pollution in the environment.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste generated from vehicles.

• Awareness about Energy policy- 50001:2018
• Significant energy uses.
• Energy objectives and Energy Management System.

Qualifications

Knowledge:

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

Graduate in any discipline

Relevant (Functional/Level) & Total Years of Experience:

6 years of experience in maintaining large industrial transport department

Skills:

- Knowledge on vehicle Operations and maintenance functions
