INFORMATION ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Aon Data & Analytics team is hiring a Senior AI/Data Scientist, based in Bangalore. You will work with global, cross-functional teams to design, build, and scale data products and generative AI solutions that power better decisions for Aon and our clients worldwide.
Must Have:
Delivery & Impact
- End-to-end delivery of AI solutions from problem framing and data discovery through production deployment and monitoring.
- Rapidly convert ideas into prototypes/MVPs, iterating with stakeholders across geographies.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, and business teams to ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and deliver measurable value.
Technical
- Degree in Computer Science, AI, ML, Statistics, or related quantitative field or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Strong Python skills; ability to write clean, production-grade, maintainable code.
- Solid working knowledge of PySpark or equivalent distributed data processing.
- Design and implement models using LLMs/SLMs, agentic systems, and NLP for business problems.
- Practical experience designing, deploying,
and operating LLM/SLM or agentic systems in production, including guardrails, safety, and monitoring.
- Advanced, hands-on Databricks expertise (or similar platform): building end-to-end data/ML pipelines, CI/CD (e.g., asset bundles, IaC), and Delta Lake or similar Lakehouse/ACID technologies.
- Experience translating business/technical requirements into technical designs and delivery plans.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing (unit/integration/e2e) as part of a real delivery pipeline.
Soft Skills
- Robust communication skills able to explain complex technical work to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working across multiple concurrent projects, ambiguity, and shifting priorities.
- Proven track record collaborating with global, cross-functional teams across time zones.
Nice to Have
Delivery & Impact
- Applying actuarial or insurance-led modelling approaches specifically.
- Mentoring junior/mid-level data scientists and contributing to formal DS/AI standards or governance frameworks.
Technical
- Direct experience in insurance/insurtech, working with real policy and claims data.
- Exposure to additional cloud/AI platforms beyond Databricks (Azure Data/AI, Google Cloud, Gemini/agent platforms).
- Experience with specific agent orchestration platforms (Agent-Bricks, Gemini Agents, Azure AI Agents, or similar).
Soft Skills
- First-principles/creative thinker with strong intellectual curiosity.
- Demonstrated resilience under pressure in fast-changing environments
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
