About the Role Egnoto is looking for an experienced Word Press Developer with strong hands-on experience in developing, customizing and maintaining complex Word Press websites and applications. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of PHP, My SQL, Java Script, HTML, CSS, Word Press themes, plugins, APIs and Woo Commerce.

Key Responsibilities Develop, customize and maintain complex Word Press websites and applications. Develop and modify custom Word Press and Woo Commerce themes and plugins. Develop new backend features and custom Word Press functionalities. Integrate and customize third-party and Word Press plugins. Facilitate connections between databases and Word Press components. Develop and integrate REST APIs and third-party APIs.

Manage Word

Press backend, database and server integrations. Troubleshoot website issues and monitor the performance of live websites. Optimize websites for performance, scalability and security. Work closely with stakeholders to understand website requirements, design and functionality.

Independently manage website development projects from requirement to deployment. Ensure websites are responsive, user-friendly and optimized for performance.



Use debugging tools such as Chrome Dev Tools/Inspector to identify and resolve issues.

Follow proper Git workflows and version control practices. Work with CI/CD processes for efficient development and deployment. Develop and maintain custom functionality using PHP, Java Script/j Query and Word Press APIs.

Use WP-REST API and WP-CLI for development and website management. Ensure code quality, security and best development practices across projects.

Required Skills & Experience4+ years of hands-on experience in Word Press development. Strong knowledge of PHP, My SQL, HTML5, CSS3, Java Script and j Query. Strong experience in custom Word Press theme and plugin development.

Experience with Woo Commerce theme and plugin customization. Positive understanding of Word Press architecture and database structure.

Experience with API development and third-party API integration. Strong knowledge of Word Press REST API and WP-CLI.

Experience with Git, Git workflows and CI/CD. Good understanding of website performance optimization and security.

Experience troubleshooting and debugging live websites. Knowledge of Java Script frameworks/libraries such as j Query or React. Ability to independently handle projects from development to deployment. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
