About the Role

A Mumbai-based interior design studio, known for its hospitality work across bars, restaurants and hotels, is building this side of its practice into a dedicated team. This role is the second senior designer to anchor that team, alongside the senior already in place, reporting to the Lead Architect.

The role runs projects end to end and stays hands-on, with roughly 40 percent of the week spent at the drawing board.

What You'll Do

n

n
- Hold interior projects end to end: concept, design development, detailing, drawing sets, vendor and consultant coordination, mock-ups and site delivery
n
- Run three to four projects in parallel at different stages
n
- Present to clients and own client communication for your projects
n
- Lead a team of three to four: plan, delegate, review, and coach the architects and juniors, including in SketchUp and drawing production
n
- Handle site end to end: visits, contractor and vendor queries, mock-up approvals, on-ground issues
n
- Coordinate MEP and other consultants and fold their inputs into the drawing set
n
- Sign off routine design and drawing decisions within intent; escalate finance-heavy or client-sensitive ones to the Lead
n
- Stand in for the Lead Architect when required
n
- Bring recent materials and detailing ideas into the team's work
n

Must Have

n

n
- 8 to 12 years in interior design; 6 to 7 considered if already delivering at senior level
n
- Hospitality, retail or commercial interiors at detail level, including hotel-room or equivalent detailing, not apartment interiors alone
n




- Direct client-facing experience, including presenting design work
n
- Site handling end to end, including mock-ups and contractor coordination
n
- Led a team of three to four and reviewed their output
n
- Run three to four projects concurrently
n
- AutoCAD and SketchUp, enough to guide juniors; Photoshop and InDesign; MS Office or Google Workspace
n
- Fluent English across all levels, from Principal to carpenter on site
n
- Based in Mumbai or settled in Maharashtra
n

- Interior work within healthcare projects

- A design-led studio of 20 to 70 people with direct Principal or Lead exposure

- A hotel-specialist or hospitality-led interior background
n
- Basic familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Gemini

Not a Fit If

- Your interiors are apartments only, without hotel, bar or restaurant detailing
n
- You are a strong drafter or visualiser who cannot run a site, a client or a team
n
- You have moved into project management and away from drawings
n
- You need the Lead for routine decisions
n
- Your vocabulary cannot represent the firm in front of a client
n
- You wait for instructions rather than think about the whole project
n
- You resist non-standard forms or questioning the conventional answer
n
- Short temper under people or site pressure
n
- Relocating from outside Maharashtra without a strong reason to stay in Mumbai
n
- You want a relaxed or contained schedule

Compensation & Work Arrangement

n

₹10.00–12.00 LPA (CTC). Work from office, Mumbai, Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 7 PM.
