ABOUT THE ROLE The QA Engineer plays a vital role in Geotech's software development process. Our ideal candidate will be primarily responsible for functional and manual testing nd conducting thorough tests before product launches to ensure our software runs smoothly, meets client needs, and is delivered cost-effectively. Working knowledge of at least one automation tool such as Playwright, Cypress, or Appium is preferred, and candidates who enjoy providing end-to-end solutions to software quality problems are encouraged to apply.

Ultimately, you will monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions and ensure our products meet the highest quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback

Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured manual test plans and test cases

Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate functional testing activities across releases

Execute manual test cases covering functional, UI, integration, smoke, exploratory, and regression testing

Identify, record, thoroughly document, and track bugs through resolution using a bug-tracking tool (e.g., Jira)

Perform thorough regression testing whenever bugs are resolved

Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs

Liaise with developers, business analysts,



and product managers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria

Support and, where applicable, contribute to automation scripts using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Appium

Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and help implement solutions

Track quality assurance metrics such as defect density and open defect counts

Stay up to date with emerging manual and automation testing tools and strategies

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

23 years of experience as a QA Engineer / Functional Tester, primarily in manual testing

Solid understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and defect life cycle

Hands-on experience with a variety of testing techniques: functional, regression, smoke, UI, integration, and exploratory testing

Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes

Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases

Working knowledge of at least one automation tool Playwright, Cypress, or Appium is preferred

Familiarity with bug-tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps)

Basic to solid knowledge of SQL for data validation

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process

Experience with API testing (e.g., Postman) is a plus A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the companys success

Great interpersonal and communication skills

BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
