Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented HR Manager / Senior Manager – Human Resources to lead and manage the complete HR function at our manufacturing plant in Bommasandra, Bengaluru.

The ideal candidate must have substantial hands-on experience in factory HR operations, Industrial Relations (IR), labour law compliance, union handling, contract labour management and workforce administration.

This role requires a strong HR professional who understands the complexities of a manufacturing environment, can effectively manage workmen and staff, maintain harmonious industrial relations, and ensure smooth plant operations through effective people management and statutory compliance.

Candidates with a strong manufacturing plant HR background and practical experience in handling labour-related matters are strongly preferred. Candidates must be currently based in Bengaluru.

Key Responsibilities1. Manufacturing Plant HR Operations

- Manage the complete HR function and day-to-day HR operations of the manufacturing plant.
- Handle manpower planning, workforce budgeting, recruitment and deployment for workmen, contract labour, supervisors, engineers and managerial staff.
- Ensure adequate manpower availability to support production requirements and uninterrupted plant operations.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Stores, Maintenance, Finance, Security and other departments.
- Manage shift-related HR activities, attendance, absenteeism, leave administration and workforce discipline.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and systems suitable for a manufacturing workplace.

2. Industrial Relations (IR), Labour & Union Management
- Independently handle Industrial Relations and employee relations matters at the factory.
- Manage relationships with workmen, labour representatives, union leaders and other relevant stakeholders.
- Handle union-related matters, worker grievances, disciplinary issues, domestic enquiries and conflict resolution.
- Participate in discussions and negotiations with labour unions and employee representatives, including wage-related matters and settlement discussions, as applicable.
- Maintain harmonious industrial relations and address workforce concerns proactively.
- Handle misconduct, absenteeism, indiscipline, disputes and other labour-related issues in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Support management in managing sensitive employee relations matters and maintaining workplace discipline.
- Monitor workforce morale and identify potential employee relations issues before they escalate.

3. Labour Law & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws,



statutory requirements and government regulations relevant to the manufacturing establishment.
- Manage statutory compliances relating to PF, ESIC, gratuity, bonus, wages, contract labour, working hours, leave, overtime and other applicable employment requirements.
- Oversee factory-related labour documentation, statutory registers, returns, notices and records.
- Coordinate statutory inspections, labour audits and visits by government authorities.
- Liaise with labour department officials, statutory authorities, consultants and other external stakeholders as required.
- Ensure timely renewal and maintenance of applicable registrations, licences and statutory records.
- Keep management informed about relevant changes in labour legislation and compliance requirements.

4. Contract Labour & Workforce Administration
- Manage contract labour deployment, attendance, documentation and compliance.
- Coordinate with contractors regarding manpower availability, wage payments, statutory contributions and other contractual obligations.
- Verify contractor compliance documentation and address discrepancies in consultation with relevant departments.
- Monitor contract labour strength, overtime, absenteeism and workforce productivity.
- Ensure proper onboarding, induction, safety coordination and documentation for contract and permanent employees.
- Handle labour-related concerns involving contractors and outsourced manpower.

5. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Drive end-to-end recruitment for plant-level and managerial positions.
- Develop manpower plans in coordination with department heads and production requirements.
- Manage sourcing, screening, interviews, selection, salary negotiations and joining formalities.
- Ensure timely closure of critical vacancies and maintain an effective recruitment pipeline.
- Monitor employee turnover, absenteeism and manpower gaps, and recommend suitable corrective actions.

6. Performance Management, Training & Employee Engagement
- Implement performance appraisal and employee development processes.
- Coordinate training, skill development, induction and capability-building initiatives.
- Drive employee engagement, welfare activities and initiatives to improve workforce morale.
- Support supervisors and department heads in people management and performance-related matters.
- Identify training needs and promote a culture of discipline, productivity and continuous improvement.

7. Payroll, HR Administration & MIS




- Oversee attendance, leave management, overtime calculations and payroll coordination.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records, personal files and HR documentation.
- Manage onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, separation, exit formalities and full & final settlements.
- Prepare and review HR MIS reports covering manpower, recruitment, attrition, absenteeism, overtime, labour costs and statutory compliance.
- Provide regular HR updates, analysis and recommendations to senior management.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of employee information and HR records.

8. HR Strategy & Management Support
- Advise management on employee relations, manpower requirements, workforce discipline and HR policies.
- Identify opportunities for improving HR processes, workforce productivity and cost efficiency.
- Support organisational development, succession planning and employee retention initiatives.
- Work closely with plant leadership to align HR activities with production, operational and business objectives.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification.
- 7–12 years of relevant HR experience, with mandatory hands-on experience in a manufacturing plant.
- Strong practical experience in Industrial Relations, labour management, union handling and employee grievance resolution.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable labour laws and statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience managing permanent workmen, contract labour, staff and supervisory employees.
- Proven exposure to factory HR operations, workforce discipline, contractor management and labour-related matters.
- Good understanding of payroll coordination, attendance management, manpower planning and HR administration.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel and HRMS / ERP systems.
- Strong communication, negotiation, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage HR responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Must be currently based in Bengaluru.
- Candidates with experience in industrial, engineering, packaging, metal, automotive or other manufacturing sectors will be preferred.
- Experience handling a sizeable factory workforce and complex employee relations matters.
- Exposure to unionised environments, wage settlements, labour negotiations and domestic enquiries will be an advantage.
- Ability to work closely with plant management and provide practical, business-oriented HR solutions.
- A proactive, approachable and firm approach to workforce management, employee discipline and compliance.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
