nAbout the Role

nPrimebook builds Android laptops, from affordable to premium. PrimeOS is the software that runs on them, and we are building it and its design system from scratch — components, tokens, icons, motion, and everything a person actually touches.

nYou would help decide how the OS feels to use, and what you make becomes the foundation everyone else builds on.

nWe are hiring for craft. If your UI already looks considered and you like building things in systems, we want to talk. You would work closely with design, product, tech and the founders.

nWhat You'll Work On

n• PrimeOS system UI — launcher, settings, notifications, window, Material etc.

n• Our in-house products — App Store, browser, file manager, AI agent, Cloud PC.

n• The design system — building components and keeping them coherent.

n• Icons, illustration and motion.

n• Product decisions — you sit with the product team as the OS grows, from a whole feature down to a single interaction.

nWhat We're Looking For

n• 0–2 years, internships count. Fresh graduates welcome.

n• Deep Figma knowledge — this matters most. Auto layout, variables, components and variants used properly. You can build a system, not just tidy frames.

n• Solid fundamentals — hierarchy, spacing, type, colour, alignment, contrast.

n• Strong UI composition. Screens that look composed, not assembled.

n• Motion and interaction — you can prototype how something moves, not only describe it.

n• You can explain your choices — why this layout and not the other one.

n• Every off pixel bothers you.

nUX judgement is welcome, and you will learn plenty here about process and product thinking.If you do not tick every box,



apply anyway — we would rather look at the work.

nWorking With AI

nWe work with AI heavily, and we expect you to.

n

- AI is already in your workflow — which tools you use matters less than the fact that you reach for them without being told — and that you know what each one is actually valuable at.

- You can take a design from brainstorming to a working prototype with AI in the loop.
n
- You can judge what comes back and improve it — putting your own craft in until the AI tell is gone. Over time you also help the AI learn our components and patterns.

nAI makes the work faster. It does not make it for you — generated screens look right at a glance, then lose the context they were given and reach for a generic pattern where the product needed something custom.

nGood to Have

nAny one of these is a bonus, none are required:

n• Familiarity with a real design system (Material, HIG, Fluent)

n• Crafting illustration in Illustrator

n• Iconography

n• Android and Material know-how

n• Work on laptop and tablet screens

nYour Portfolio

nWe spend more time here than on your CV. A few strong screens beat twenty average ones.

nPlease include a link to your Figma file with viewer access. The file shows how you work — whether components are real, and whether layers are named so someone else could pick it up.

nIf you can't share client work, a personal file is perfectly fine.

n• Show the UI large and at full resolution.

n• Two or three projects you can talk about properly beats ten you cannot.

n• Craft work counts — icon sets, illustration, type studies. Personal and unfinished work is welcome.

n• Tell us which parts were yours on team or class projects.
