Role & responsibilities
Role Overview
We are looking for a Tour Sales & Operations Executive with 13 years of experience in Tourism Sales & Operations, preferably with exposure to wildlife tourism, nature tourism, adventure tourism or eco-tourism.
The candidate will be responsible for client handling, customized itinerary planning, tour sales, quotations, bookings, vendor coordination and end-to-end tour operations for wildlife and nature-based travel experiences.
The ideal candidate should have a genuine interest in wildlife, nature, conservation and travel, along with solid communication, coordination and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Management
- Handle client enquiries through email, phone and online channels.
- Understand customer requirements and design customized wildlife and nature-based itineraries.
- Prepare quotations, proposals and travel packages for domestic and international destinations.
- Convert enquiries into bookings and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ensure excellent customer service from enquiry to post-trip follow-up.
Tour Operations & Coordination
- Coordinate bookings with wildlife lodges, safari camps, guides, transporters and other suppliers.
- Manage safari bookings, park permits, transfers and other travel arrangements.
- Prepare and ensure accuracy of itineraries, vouchers and travel documentation.
- Coordinate with on-ground teams for smooth execution of tours.
- Handle operational issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Collect and review post-tour feedback.
Product Development
- Research wildlife destinations and develop new tour products and itineraries.
- Update destination information, ready reckoners and rate sheets.
- Analyse customer preferences and competitor offerings.
- Assist in developing competitive tour pricing.
- Design and manage SIC (Seat-in-Coach) tours and coordinate with suppliers for cost-effective operations.
Vendor Management
- Identify and develop relationships with lodges, guides, transporters and other tourism suppliers.
- Negotiate rates, service standards and commercial terms.
- Monitor vendor performance and service quality.
- Maintain an updated database of reliable suppliers.
Marketing Support
- Support marketing teams with destination information, wildlife content and travel insights.
- Contribute to brochures, blogs and social media content.
- Assist in travel fairs, exhibitions and webinars.
- Build and maintain a content bank of photographs, videos and destination information.
Preferred candidate profile
Candidate Profile
- Bachelors degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Wildlife Management, Environmental Studies or a related field.
- 25 years of experience in Tourism Sales & Operations is mandatory.
- Experience in wildlife, adventure, nature or eco-tourism will be preferred.
- Good knowledge of wildlife destinations, national parks and nature-based experiences in India/South Asia/Southeast Asia.
- Strong communication, negotiation and client-handling skills.
- Good organizational, coordination and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office / Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with CRM, booking or travel management systems will be an advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Experience coordinating with wildlife lodges, safari operators, guides or conservation organizations.
- Knowledge of sustainable and responsible tourism.
- Basic understanding of wildlife, habitats and biodiversity.
- Experience in customized tours, FIT/GIT or SIC tour operations.
