About Us:

Join a team that is redefining the accessibility of space. Azista space is a transformative force in the global aerospace sector, uniquely positioned at the intersection of indigenous innovation and industrial scalability. Operating India’s first private-sector satellite mass-production facility in Ahmedabad, we have bridged the gap between complex engineering and high-volume manufacturing.

As a vertically integrated leader, we provide end-to-end solutions from the precision design of satellite buses and advanced payloads to mission management and communication systems. We don’t just build hardware, we are democratizing the final frontier by providing global clientele with the cost-effective, high-performance technology needed to power the next generation of orbital missions. At Azista, you won't just be starting a job, you’ll be fuelling the future of space exploration.

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Thermal Engineer within our Thermal Control Systems (TCS) team in Bengaluru, you will hold end-to-end ownership of spacecraft thermal integrity across extreme orbital environments. Your mandate spans the complete mission lifecycle—from conceptual thermal modeling and active/passive hardware sizing to vacuum chamber qualification and on-orbit flight correlation.

In this role, you will interface directly with Systems, Mechanical, Avionics, and Payload engineering teams to safeguard critical satellite subsystems. Primary metrics owned include Thermal Mathematical Model (TMM) correlation accuracy (target within ±3°C to ±5°C of test data), subsystem operational temperature margin compliance across worst-case hot/cold orbits, active thermal power budget optimization, and flight qualification readiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop High-Fidelity Thermal Models: Build, correlate, and maintain component and spacecraft-level Thermal Mathematical Models (TMMs) and geometrical models using Siemens NX Space Systems Thermal, Thermal Desktop, or ESATAN-TMS.
- Execute Orbital Environmental Analyses:

Perform rigorous steady-state and transient simulations across extreme mission phases, including worst-case hot, worst-case cold, eclipse passes, safe-mode drift, and seasonal sunlit attitudes.
- Architect Passive & Active TCS Solutions: Size and specify passive systems (MLI blankets, optical surface coatings, heat straps, thermal isolators, radiators) alongside active systems (operational/survival heater circuits, thermostats, and sensor placement).
- Manage Thermal Budgets & Compliance: Establish and track subsystem thermal budgets, interface heat fluxes, and temperature margins in alignment with system-level constraints and mission lifetime goals.
- Lead TVAC & Environmental Qualification: Plan and execute Thermal Vacuum Testing (TVT) and Thermal Balance Testing (TBT), defining sensor telemetry layouts (RTDs, thermocouples), acceptance criteria, and vacuum chamber duty cycles.
- Drive Model Correlation & Post-Test Analysis: Analyze empirical vacuum test telemetry to correlate analytical thermal models against physical hardware performance, validating simulation fidelity prior to flight clearance.
- Cross-Disciplinary Integration: Partner with Mechanical, Power, RF/Avionics, and Mission Ops teams to drive flight readiness reviews (PDR/CDR) and close thermal non-conformances with data-backed solutions.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR?

- Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: 1–3 years of professional thermal engineering and analysis experience within spacecraft, satellite, aerospace, defense, or high-reliability hardware environments.
- Core Competencies: Robust mastery of conductive, convective, and radiative heat transfer,

orbital environmental flux calculations (Direct Solar Flux, Earth Albedo, Outgoing Longwave Radiation/OLR), and thermodynamics.
- Simulation Tools: Hands-on proficiency with specialized thermal analysis software (Siemens NX Space Systems Thermal, Thermal Desktop, ESATAN-TMS, or SINDA/FLUINT).
- Scripting & Data Analysis: Practical working knowledge of MATLAB or Python for automated data parsing, parametric thermal sweeps, and test-telemetry correlation.
- Hardware Acumen: Practical understanding of space-grade thermal hardware (Kapton heaters, bimetallic thermostats, thermal interface materials, heat pipes, and multilayer insulation).

NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

- Direct exposure to space agency technical standards (ECSS, NASA-STD, or ISRO guidelines).
- Hands-on testing background inside thermal vacuum chambers (TVAC) or environmental test facilities.
- Working proficiency with Siemens NX CAD for mechanical packaging and geometric simplification.
- Experience presenting thermal architectures at formal engineering milestone reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR).

WHY JOIN US?

- Orbital Flight Heritage: Your designs don't just stay on paper—they fly. Influence the thermal baseline of operational satellites deployed into orbit.
- Front-Row Seat to Industrial Space: Azista Space operates India’s first private-sector satellite mass-production facility, giving you direct exposure to rapid build-test-fly cycles rather than years-long theoretical delays.
- End-to-End Ownership: Gain cross-functional exposure across the entire development chain: CAD integration, advanced simulation, cleanroom integration, TVAC testing, and on-orbit commissioning.
- High-Impact Culture: Work alongside accomplished aerospace practitioners in an agile, merit-driven environment where technical rigor and innovation directly steer company milestones.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Competitive compensation package, group health coverage, structured technical growth tracks, and exposure to international commercial space missions.
