Test Lead – E-commerce

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Test Lead with strong E-commerce domain experience to support quality assurance and testing activities for digital commerce platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across manual, functional, automation, API, integration, SIT, UAT, and regression testing.

This is a part-time remote opportunity requiring someone who can independently manage testing activities, work closely with development and business teams, and ensure high-quality delivery across critical E-commerce applications and customer journeys.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate end-to-end testing activities for E-commerce applications.
- Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test execution plans.
- Lead functional, system integration, regression, UAT, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.
- Perform and oversee both manual and automation testing activities.
- Identify suitable scenarios for automation and contribute to automation test coverage.
- Coordinate testing across web, mobile, APIs, backend systems, databases, and third-party integrations.
- Validate critical E-commerce customer journeys from product selection through checkout, payment, order fulfilment, and returns.
- Manage defects from identification through resolution and closure.
- Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other stakeholders.
- Review test cases and automation scripts to ensure quality and adequate coverage.
- Provide regular testing status updates, risks, issues, and defect reports.
- Support release validation and production deployment activities.
- Identify testing risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.




- Mentor and provide guidance to QA/Test Engineers.
- Continuously improve QA processes, testing standards, and automation coverage.

E-commerce Domain Experience – Required

Strong hands-on experience testing E-commerce and digital commerce platforms, including:

- Product catalogue and product search
- Product details and pricing
- Shopping cart and checkout
- Customer registration and login
- Customer account management
- Promotions, discounts, coupons, and vouchers
- Payment gateway and transaction testing
- Order creation and order management
- Order fulfilment and delivery
- Inventory integration
- Refunds, cancellations, and returns
- Customer notifications
- Third-party integrations
- Web and mobile E-commerce applications
- API and backend integration testing

Testing Skills
- Solid experience in manual and functional testing.
- Strong experience in automation testing.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts.
- Experience with automation testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools.
- Strong experience in API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Experience with SIT, UAT, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.
- Good understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and system integrations.
- Experience with SQL and database testing.
- Strong defect management experience using Jira or similar tools.




- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution is desirable.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Test Automation Responsibilities
- Identify suitable test scenarios for automation.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts.
- Execute automated regression and functional test suites.
- Analyse automation failures and work with development teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain automation frameworks and test data.
- Integrate automation testing into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
- Improve automation coverage for critical E-commerce workflows.

Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in software testing/QA.
- Previous experience working as a Test Lead, QA Lead, or Senior Test Engineer.
- Strong experience in E-commerce testing.
- Proven experience across both manual and automation testing.
- Experience leading or coordinating QA activities across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong experience with web applications, APIs, integrations, and backend systems.
- Good understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
- Solid communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a part-time remote engagement.

Desirable
- Experience with large-scale E-commerce or digital transformation projects.
- Experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent automation tools.
- Experience with cloud-based applications.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps environments.
- Experience testing payment platforms and third-party E-commerce integrations.

Pay: ₹1,000.00 - ₹2,000.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20.0 per week
