About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Telecom / Fixed Network Architect with 10–14 years of relevant industry experience to support a strategic transformation and assessment initiative within the telecom domain. The architect will bring strong Fixed Network domain expertise, industry knowledge, and architectural experience to assess the current network workplace, validate findings, benchmark existing practices against telecom industry standards, and contribute to the development of a target-state architecture and recommendations.

The role requires a combination of technical architecture, telecom domain expertise, analytical thinking, industry benchmarking, and stakeholder management. Experience working with AI-enabled analysis, automation, autonomous networks, or AI-driven telecom transformation will be highly valuable.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fixed Network Domain Expertise

* Provide deep subject-matter expertise across Fixed Network / Broadband Network environments.

- Assess current fixed network architecture, technologies, processes, and operational practices.
- Understand and evaluate network domains such as:
- Fiber Access Networks
- FTTH / FTTB
- PON / GPON / XGS-PON
- OLT / ONT
- Access and Aggregation Networks
- IP/MPLS
- Broadband Access
- Optical Transport
- Network Management Systems
- OSS/BSS integration
- Network Inventory and Service Assurance
- Analyze network architecture, technology choices, operational models, and dependencies across the fixed network ecosystem.

2. Current-State Assessment

* Review existing architecture, processes, technology landscape, and operational capabilities.
- Validate findings from assessments, workshops, documentation reviews, and data analysis.
- Identify architectural gaps, redundancies, inefficiencies, and areas for modernization.
- Assess the maturity of existing network operations and automation capabilities.




- Identify opportunities for increased automation, standardization, and simplification.

3. Telecom Industry Benchmarking

* Benchmark current practices against telecom industry standards, leading practices, and emerging technology trends.

- Provide industry context around fixed network transformation and modernization.
- Compare current capabilities with established telecom architectural patterns.
- Identify relevant developments in:
- Autonomous Networks
- AI-driven Network Operations
- Network Automation
- Zero-Touch Operations
- Intent-Based Networking
- Digital Twins
- Predictive Maintenance
- AI/ML-based Assurance
- Closed-Loop Automation
- Translate industry trends into practical recommendations for the organization.

4. Target-State Architecture

* Contribute to the definition of the target-state Fixed Network architecture.

- Develop architectural recommendations based on current-state findings and industry benchmarks.
- Define opportunities to simplify and modernize the network architecture.
- Recommend future-state capabilities required to support greater automation and autonomous network operations.
- Contribute to target-state principles, architectural roadmaps, and transformation priorities.
- Ensure recommendations are aligned with business objectives, technology strategy, scalability, and operational requirements.

5. AI & Autonomous Network Focus

* Evaluate opportunities for applying AI/ML and automation within fixed network operations.

- Identify use cases for AI-assisted:
- Fault detection
- Root-cause analysis
- Network optimization
- Predictive maintenance
- Capacity planning
- Incident management
- Performance monitoring
- Service assurance




- Assess the maturity of existing automation and identify opportunities for progression toward autonomous network capabilities.
- Provide practical recommendations for integrating AI into existing network operations and OSS ecosystems.
- Understand the role of AI agents, intelligent automation, and closed-loop operations in future telecom networks.

6. Architecture Validation & Recommendations

* Challenge and validate existing findings using telecom domain expertise.
- Identify assumptions, dependencies, risks, and gaps in proposed solutions.
- Provide architecture-level recommendations supported by industry evidence and practical experience.
- Translate technical observations into clear business and operational implications.
- Support prioritization of recommendations based on feasibility, impact, complexity, and strategic alignment.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration

* Work closely with telecom architects, network engineering teams, operations teams, technology leaders, and transformation stakeholders.
- Conduct and participate in architecture workshops and stakeholder interviews.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior technical and business stakeholders.
- Communicate complex telecom architecture concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency of architectural recommendations.

Required Technical & Domain Skills

Mandatory

* 10–14 years of experience in Telecom / Network Architecture.

- Strong experience in Fixed Network / Broadband domain.
- Hands-on understanding of telecom network architecture and operations.
- Experience with FTTH, GPON/XGS-PON, OLT/ONT, Access and Aggregation Networks.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking and IP/MPLS.
- Understanding of telecom OSS/BSS and network management systems.
- Experience in current-state assessment and target-state architecture.
- Strong understanding of telecom industry standards and best practices.
- Experience creating architecture assessments, recommendations, roadmaps, and transformation plans.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
