Job Summary

The Hybrid Exchange Administrator plays a critical role in managing and maintaining the organizations email messaging system, which encompasses both on-premises Exchange servers and Exchange Online in a hybrid deployment model. This role requires a deep understanding of Microsoft Exchange architecture, as well as proficiency in cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365).

Responsibilities

- Exchange Server Administration: Manage and maintain on-premises Exchange servers, including installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance tasks.

- Monitor server health and performance, and troubleshoot issues related to mail flow, connectivity, and mailbox access.

- Implement and manage Exchange Server updates, service packs, and cumulative updates.

- Exchange Online Administration: Administer Exchange Online within the Microsoft 365 workplace, including mailbox provisioning, configuration, and security settings.

- Monitor Exchange Online service health and performance, and troubleshoot issues related to mail flow, connectivity, and message hygiene.

- Configure and manage Exchange Online Protection (EOP) for spam filtering and malware protection.

- Hybrid Configuration Management:



Configure and maintain hybrid connectivity between on-premises Exchange servers and Exchange Online.

- Manage hybrid configuration settings to ensure seamless mail flow, mailbox migrations, and coexistence between on-premises and cloud environments.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hybrid connectivity, synchronization, and free/busy calendar sharing.

- Mailbox Management: Provision and manage user mailboxes, distribution groups, and shared mailboxes across on-premises and cloud environments.

- Implement mailbox retention policies, archiving, and eDiscovery capabilities to meet compliance requirements.

- Monitor mailbox usage and perform mailbox migrations between on-premises and Exchange Online environments as needed.

- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices for email messaging systems, including message encryption, data loss prevention (DLP), and anti-phishing measures.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to email security and privacy.
