About the Role
Riddletek Tactical is looking for a technically strong and commercially capable UAS Solutions Engineer with proven experience in the UAV/Drone industry and direct exposure to Defence and Police customers.
The candidate will be responsible for a combination of UAV technical engineering, solution development, technical pre-sales, business development, government tendering, customer engagement, product demonstrations and OEM coordination.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of multiple UAV platforms and OEMs and should be capable of understanding customer requirements, evaluating suitable technologies, preparing technical compliance, developing solutions and supporting the opportunity from initial customer engagement through technical evaluation and business closure.
Mandatory Requirement
Proven experience in handling UAV/Drone-related business with Indian Defence and/or Police organizations is mandatory.
The candidate should have experience interacting with or supporting projects for organizations such as:
- Indian Army
- Indian Air Force
- Indian Navy
- Central Armed Police Forces

- Special Police Units

- Government departments
Candidates with only general sales experience or only academic knowledge of drones, without relevant UAV/Drone and Defence/Police customer experience, will not be considered.

- UAV/UAS Technical & Systems Expertise
- Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of UAV/UAS technologies.
- Understand complete drone systems and their integration, including:
- Airframes
- Motors and ESCs
- Propellers
- Flight Controllers
- Autopilot systems
- GNSS/GPS
- IMU and navigation systems
- Batteries and power systems
- RF/data links
- Telemetry
- Ground Control Stations
- EO/IR payloads
- Mapping and surveillance payloads
- Autonomous flight systems
- Mission planning software
- Communication systems
- Understand the technical capabilities, limitations and operational applications of different UAV platforms.
- Evaluate UAV systems and configurations according to specific Defence and Police requirements.
- Provide technical inputs for system integration and customer-specific configurations.
2. Multi-OEM UAV Evaluation
- Work with multiple domestic and international UAV/Drone OEMs.
- Evaluate and compare different UAV platforms based on:
- Flight endurance
- Operational range
- Payload capacity
- MTOW
- Communication/data link
- Navigation
- Sensor and payload capability
- Environmental specifications
- Wind resistance
- IP rating
- Software and autonomy
- Security features
- Reliability and maintainability
- Identify suitable OEMs and platforms for specific customer requirements.
- Coordinate with OEM engineering and sales teams for technical information, customization and support.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging UAV technologies and market developments.
3. Technical Pre-Sales & Solution Development
- Understand customer operational requirements and translate them into appropriate technical solutions.
- Prepare:
- Technical proposals
- Technical compliance matrices
- Product comparison sheets
- Technical presentations
- Statements of Compliance
- Technical specifications
- Solution architecture
- Technical clarifications
- Participate in customer meetings and technical discussions.
- Provide technical support to the Sales and Business Development team.
- Explain complex UAV technologies to customers in a clear and commercially relevant manner.
- Support configuration and costing of proposed technical solutions.
4. Defence & Police Business Development
- Identify and develop UAV/UAS business opportunities with Defence and Police organizations.
- Develop and maintain skilled relationships with government customers and relevant stakeholders.
- Understand operational requirements and identify potential procurement opportunities.
- Generate current business opportunities and manage follow-up through the complete sales cycle.
- Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, demonstrations and field trials.
- Support preparation of commercial and technical proposals.
- Coordinate internally to ensure timely response to customer requirements.
- Maintain opportunity pipelines and provide regular business updates.
5. Government Tendering & GeM
- Identify and evaluate relevant UAV/Drone tenders and GeM opportunities.
- Study RFPs, RFQs, technical specifications, eligibility criteria and tender conditions.
- Prepare detailed technical compliance against tender requirements.
- Identify technical deviations, ambiguities and potential compliance risks.
- Prepare technical pre-bid queries and clarification requests.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and represent the company on technical matters.
- Coordinate with OEMs to obtain technical documents, certifications, test reports and compliance evidence.
- Support preparation and submission of technical bids.
- Support the company during technical evaluation, trials and demonstrations.
6. Product Demonstrations & Field Trials
- Plan and conduct UAV product demonstrations for Defence and Police customers.
- Coordinate with OEM technical teams during demonstrations and trials.
- Prepare demonstration plans based on customer requirements.
- Support Proof of Concept (PoC), field testing and technical evaluations.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during demonstrations and trials.
- Capture customer feedback and convert it into technical/product requirements.
7. OEM & Technology Partner Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with multiple UAV/Drone OEMs and technology partners.
- Coordinate with domestic and international OEMs for:
- Technical specifications
- Quotations
- Compliance documents
- Certifications
- Test reports
- Demonstrations
- OEM authorization
- Technical support
- Evaluate new technologies and potential OEM/technology partnerships.
- Maintain an updated technical database of UAV platforms and their capabilities.
Anti-Drone / Counter-UAS Experience – Strong Advantage
Experience in Anti-Drone / Counter-UAS (C-UAS) systems will be a significant advantage.

- 3–7 years of relevant qualified experience.
- Technical/engineering experience in UAV/UAS/Drone systems.
- Proven experience dealing with Indian Defence and/or Police organizations.
- Experience in UAV technical sales, pre-sales or business development.
- Experience working with multiple UAV/Drone OEMs or platforms.
- Strong understanding of UAV technical specifications.
- Strong technical compliance and documentation skills.
- Experience with government/Defence/Police tenders.
- Ability to independently participate in pre-bid and technical meetings.
- Experience conducting or supporting UAV product demonstrations and field trials.
- Strong customer-facing and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings, demonstrations and trials.

Educational Qualification

Candidates with a Diploma and substantial relevant UAV/Defence experience may also be considered.
