Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Technical Editor to join our publishing and production team. The ideal candidate will have strong proofreading and quality assurance skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with typeset proofs, manuscripts, and complex publishing content.

Key Responsibilities

- Consolidate and reconcile markups from reviewers, copyeditors, and proofreaders into a single master proof.
- Identify and resolve conflicting corrections before sending instructions to the typesetting team.
- Conduct detailed page-by-page QA of typeset proofs against source manuscripts.
- Check text flow, hyphenation, page breaks, headers, footers, tables, figures, captions, equations, cross-references, and artwork.
- Verify that all author, reviewer, and client corrections are accurately incorporated.
- Maintain and track editorial, technical, and layout queries throughout the production cycle.
- Coordinate with authors, production editors, typesetters, and clients to resolve queries efficiently.
- Review and document client feedback to support continuous improvement of production workflows.
- Ensure all assigned projects meet defined quality standards and delivery timelines.

Required Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in technical editing, proofreading, or production editing.
- Experience in academic, STM, educational, or professional publishing.




- Strong understanding of page layout, typography, and desktop publishing standards.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro and MS Office.
- Experience with workflow or editorial tracking systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong quality assurance skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven production work.
- Good understanding of publishing workflows and production processes.

Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of British/US proofreading marks and style guides such as Chicago, APA, or client-specific styles.
- Exposure to XML/HTML content structures or automated publishing platforms.
- Experience working with STEM, ELT, or complex illustrated titles.
- Experience handling typeset proofs from first pass through final delivery.
