Job Summary

Avaloq is seeking a Senior Unix Engineer to design, implement, and operate secure, scalable, and highly available Unix/Linux infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will possess robust expertise in enterprise Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, automation, and operational support. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of platform services supporting mission-critical banking applications.

Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Unix/Linux infrastructure across data center and cloud environments
Own and manage Linux-based environments across Dev, Test, and Production with focus on availability and reliability
Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Linux systems in line with operational and security standards
Monitor system performance, health, and capacity, ensuring proactive optimization




Manage system resources including CPU, memory, storage, file systems, and processes
Troubleshoot complex system issues and lead incident resolution, including root cause analysis (RCA)
Implement and maintain system security controls, access management, and hardening practices
Support high availability, disaster recovery, and system resilience strategies
Collaborate with database, network, cloud, and application teams for integrated service delivery
Maintain system documentation, standards, and operational procedures
Drive automation-first approach using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Shell, Python, Ansible, Terraform)
Support compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements in banking settings
