About the Role

We're building Credit Engine, a lending platform on top of Apache Fineract that powers credit assessment, disbursement, repayment, and portfolio management for our clients. We're looking for a Java Developer to help build and scale the backend services behind these workflows.

What You'll Work On
Build and maintain backend services for lending functions — organisation/office management, portfolio and product configuration, cash margin engines, and credit workflows.
Design and consume REST APIs integrating with internal modules and external banking/financial partners.
Extend Apache Fineract to support custom lending products and business rules.
Design and optimize MySQL schemas/queries for transactional, audit-heavy financial data.




Translate lending/credit policies (interest computation, grace periods, margin calculations) into tested, production-grade code.
Debug production issues in systems handling real money movement, with focus on correctness and data integrity.
Participate in code reviews and API/service design discussions.

Must-Have Skills
2+ years hands-on Core Java (Java 8+) — OOP, collections, concurrency basics.
Experience building REST APIs with Spring Boot.
Strong MySQL skills — schema design, indexing, query optimization, transactions.
Understanding of transactional consistency, data integrity, and audit trails.
Comfortable with Git-based team-oriented workflows.

Good to Have
Experience with Apache Fineract or similar core banking/lending platforms.
Exposure to microservices, message queues, or event-driven systems.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD.
Frontend exposure (Angular/React) for API contract collaboration.
Prior experience in fintech, NBFC, banking, or supply chain finance
