About the Role

We are seeking an experienced System Engineer (5 years) specializing in Electric Vehicle (EV) systems to lead diagnostic development, remote telemetry implementation, and validation across vehicle platforms. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional software, system engineering, and telematics teams to design end-to-end diagnostic architectures, define fault management strategies, and ensure compliant, robust vehicle performance throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities1. Diagnostic System Architecture & Strategy

- Define and implement vehicle EE (Electrical/Electronic) and Powertrain diagnostic concepts for electric vehicle (xEV) architectures.
- Architect Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), fault detection logic, debounce times, fault reaction matrices, and recovery mechanisms.
- Establish safety and performance strategies including derating modes, limp-home operations, and driver alert notifications based on fault severity.
- Define HMI cluster telltales, driver warning messages, and mobile application telemetry notifications.

2. Requirements & Cross-Functional Engineering

- Perform thorough diagnostic requirements analysis, develop technical specifications, and ensure end-to-end requirements traceability in tools like DOORS/Jama.
- Collaborate across functional teams to integrate diagnostic routines across major EV subsystems:
- VCU (Vehicle Control Unit)
- BMS (Battery Management System)
- MCU (Motor Control Unit / Inverter)
- OBC & DC-DC Converters
- Thermal Management Systems (TMS)
- Define subsystem diagnostic requirements for vehicle controllers, service tools, and Off-Board Diagnostic Testers (VCI tools).

3. Remote Diagnostics, Telematics & OTA





- Support the integration and validation of connected vehicle technologies, cloud telemetry, and remote vehicle diagnostic solutions.
- Define diagnostic protocols and security mechanisms for Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates, ECU flashing sequences, campaign management, and update verification.
- Ensure automotive cybersecurity considerations (e.g., SecOC, Diagnostic Authentication) are incorporated into diagnostic services.

4. Validation, Testing & Root Cause Analysis

- Develop, execute, and validate diagnostic test cases, service routines, and fault handling strategies.
- Analyze in-vehicle communication trace logs (CAN, CAN FD, DoIP) using Vector toolchains to resolve system-level defects during bench and vehicle testing.

Key Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech or M.E. / M.Tech in Automotive, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or allied disciplines.
- Experience: 5 years total experience in automotive software/systems development, with 3 years dedicated to Electric Vehicle (EV) systems.

Technical Competencies

- Deep understanding of automotive diagnostic standards and protocols: UDS (ISO 14229), DoCAN (ISO 15765-2), DoIP (ISO 13400), and OBD-II / WWH-OBD.
- Solid background in xEV powertrain control concepts, fault tree analysis, and vehicle energy management.
- Experience with OTA campaign workflows, ECU flashing procedures, and telematics app notification architecture.
- Solid exposure to safety concepts (ISO 26262 functional safety awareness).

Tooling Expertise

- Diagnostic & Bus Tools: Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, or equivalent diagnostic logging software.
- Requirements Management: IBM DOORS, Jama Software, PTC Integrity, or JIRA.

Pay: ₹1,800,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
