Role & responsibilities

Windows Infrastructure Management

- Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).

- Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting of Windows operating systems.

- Proactively monitor server health, performance, and system capacity to identify risks before they cause incidents.

- Troubleshoot across adjacent dependencies network, storage, virtualization, security, and applications – to isolate true root cause, while keeping Windows/Azure as the primary area of ownership.

Active Directory &

- Identity Management

- Manage Active Directory (AD), Group Policies (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and related identity services.

- Administer user accounts, security groups, service accounts, and access controls.

- Support AD integrations with cloud and enterprise applications.

- Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, and directory-related issues.

Microsoft Azure Administration

- Manage Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Storage, Backup, and Recovery services.

- Support Azure AD, Azure Security, monitoring, and governance initiatives.

- Work on hybrid cloud environments integrating on-premises infrastructure with Azure services.

- Participate in cloud migration, optimization, and modernization projects.

Virtualization

- Apply working knowledge of VMware to support and troubleshoot virtualized infrastructure underlying Windows environments.

- Coordinate with virtualization teams on VM provisioning, performance, and resource-related issues.

Automation &

- Operational Efficiency

- Drive automation as a core responsibility – hands-on PowerShell scripting to reduce repetitive operational work, standardize routine tasks, and improve consistency.

- Build and maintain PowerShell scripts and Azure automation for provisioning, patching, monitoring, and recurring administrative tasks.

- Apply an automation/AI mindset – proactively using modern AI-assisted tools for scripting, troubleshooting, documentation, and overall operational efficiency.

- Identify recurring issues and build automated, permanent fixes to reduce repeat incidents and manual effort.

Security, Patching &

- Compliance





- Own the end-to-end patching lifecycle for Windows Server environments – planning, testing, scheduling, and execution.

- Drive vulnerability remediation in coordination with security teams, tracking findings through to closure within SLA.

- Implement and maintain security hardening and compliance standards across Windows infrastructure, beyond general OS hardening – including compliance benchmark alignment and audit support.

- Support security assessments, compliance reporting, and remediation tracking.

Incident &

- Problem Management

- Act as the Shift Lead and primary escalation point for critical Windows and Azure incidents.

- Lead troubleshooting efforts during major incidents and coordinate resolution across technology teams.

- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive, automated measures rather than one-off workarounds.

- Track and reduce recurring issues through problem management and continuous improvement of operational practices.

- Ensure adherence to SLAs, operational procedures, and escalation protocols.

Managed File Transfer (MFT) Support

- Support and maintain enterprise Managed File Transfer platforms such as MoveIT, where applicable to the environment.

- Troubleshoot file transfer failures, connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks.

- Coordinate with application owners and business stakeholders for secure data exchange requirements.

Operational Excellence

- Own ticket resolution end to end, along with RCA.

- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.

- Participate in shift operations, on-call rotations, and production support activities.

- Collaborate with global infrastructure, network, security, and application teams.

- Work closely with Senior Engineers and Architects to operationalize recent designs, standards, and automation solutions.





Required Skills &

- Qualifications

Technical Skills

- 5+ years of in-depth experience in Windows Systems Administration.

- Strong expertise in:

- Windows Server Administration (2016/2019/2022)

- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy

- Azure Infrastructure Services

- Azure Active Directory / Entra ID

- Windows Security &
- Hardening

- Server Monitoring and Performance Management

- Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions

Automation &

- Scripting

- Hands-on experience with:

- PowerShell scripting (required, hands-on) for automation and operational efficiency

- Using automation to reduce repetitive operational and administrative work

- Azure automation tools

Virtualization

- Working knowledge of VMware for troubleshooting and supporting virtualized infrastructure.

Security &

- Compliance

- Working knowledge of patching, vulnerability remediation workflows, and security compliance practices.

- Familiarity with compliance frameworks/benchmarks for Windows environments.

Cloud &

- Infrastructure

- Knowledge of Azure networking, storage, and virtual machine administration.

- Experience with cloud migration and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

ITSM &

- Operations

- Experience with Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management.

- Exposure to ITIL processes and enterprise support environments.

- Ability to lead shifts and manage critical production incidents.

- Comfortable using AI-assisted tools to speed up scripting, troubleshooting, and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

- Certifications such as:

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect (Preferred)

- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administration

- ITIL Foundation

- Experience with MoveIT or equivalent enterprise Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms is valuable and preferred, though not a mandatory screening criterion.

- Experience working in GCC, BOT, or Managed Services environments.

- Knowledge of cybersecurity controls and compliance standards.

- Exposure to automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
