System Engineer – 5G NR / Wireless Systems

Ananant Systems is building next-generation semiconductor solutions for 5G, connectivity, and intelligent edge computing . We are looking for a System Engineer to join our Systems team and contribute to the development of 5G NR physical-layer solutions from algorithm development through hardware and firmware implementation.

Role Overview

As a System Engineer, you will work on 5G NR L1 system modeling, algorithm development, simulation, and performance analysis . You will collaborate closely with digital design and firmware teams to translate wireless algorithms into efficient hardware and software implementations.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop 5G NR L1 end-to-end reference models and link-level simulators using MATLAB and C/C++, covering both floating-point and fixed-point implementations.
- Design, simulate, and analyze physical-layer wireless communication algorithms and evaluate system-level performance.
- Work on L1 algorithms including channel estimation, signal estimation and detection, MIMO detection, synchronization, and forward-error correction .
- Analyze algorithm performance across different channel conditions, configurations, and system parameters.
- Develop and optimize fixed-point algorithms and models for hardware implementation.
- Collaborate with digital design, architecture, and firmware teams to enable power- and area-efficient implementation of algorithms.
- Translate system-level algorithms into clear feature descriptions, technical requirements, and implementation specifications for hardware and software teams.
- Support system bring-up, debugging, and performance analysis through simulation and implementation correlation.
- Contribute to technical discussions around 5G NR PHY architecture, algorithm trade-offs, and system performance .





Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Communication Engineering, or a related field .
- Strong fundamentals in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and wireless communications.
- Good understanding of 5G NR Physical Layer (L1) standards and procedures .
- Hands-on experience with common wireless L1 algorithms such as:
- Channel estimation
- Signal estimation and detection
- MIMO detection
- Synchronization
- Forward-error correction
- Strong experience in MATLAB-based link-level simulation and system modeling .
- Proficiency in C/C++ for algorithm development and modeling.
- Experience with fixed-point algorithm development and optimization .
- Ability to analyze simulation results and translate them into practical implementation requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Positive communication and ability to work effectively with cross-functional hardware, firmware, and systems teams .

Good to Have
- Experience in wireless semiconductor / chipset development .
- Experience working on 5G NR modem or PHY development .
- Experience taking algorithms from system modeling to RTL/hardware or firmware implementation .
- Knowledge of 3GPP 5G NR specifications and modem architecture.
- Experience with performance optimization considering power, area, throughput, and latency .
- Experience with real-world 5G testing, prototyping, or modem bring-up.

Location Bangalore / Noida, India

Candidates should be comfortable working from either of our Bangalore or Noida offices , depending on the team and project requirements.
