Who you will be working with:

- Planning leadership and peers: Work with Planning leaders and Supply Planning peers to align standards, priorities, cross-coverage and escalations.
- Demand and Inventory Planning: Translate the approved demand signal into a supply response and align inbound supply with inventory deployment requirements.
- Merchandise Planning and Category: Understand category, promotional, range and product lifecycle requirements and communicate supply implications.
- Suppliers and logistics partners: Coordinate order commitments, production capacity, shipment timing and recovery actions with suppliers, International Logistics, Distribution Centres, Transport and EDI teams.
- Finance: Support effective inventory investment and provide visibility of material changes to order commitments and working capital requirements.
- Inventory Optimization, Data and Technology: Resolve data and system issues and improve supply planning capability

The Commercial team sits at the heart of Officeworks’ growth agenda. This function brings together customer needs, product innovation, services, supplier partnerships, merchandise planning, and channel growth to shape what Officeworks sells, how it competes, and the value it delivers across Retail, B2B, Government, and Education. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the business’s most commercially impactful areas. The team plays a key role in evolving Officeworks’ product and service offering, accelerating growth in high-potential channels (such as B2B and Education), expanding private label and exclusive ranges, strengthening supplier partnerships, and unlocking emerging category opportunities across areas like technology, gaming, mobility, VR, print, installation, telco, and managed services.

You will help build commercial capability from the ground up, shaping scalable ways of working, strengthening planning and decision-making, and driving outcomes that impact sales, margin, customer experience, inventory performance, and long-term growth.

Why this role exists:

The Supply Planner turns the agreed demand forecast and inventory requirements into a practical, time-phased supply plan for an assigned category portfolio. The role determines when inventory should be ordered and in what quantities, considering available stock, open orders, supplier lead times, service levels, safety stock, order constraints and operational capacity.

The Supply Planner maintains key planning parameters, manages supplier orders within agreed authority and responds to supply issues as they arise. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, the role monitors changes to demand, supply and inventory and adjusts plans where needed.

Through effective supply planning and early identification of risks, the role supports product availability while balancing inventory investment, stock health and operational requirements.

Where you will make a difference:

Replenishment and Supply Execution:

- Translate the approved demand forecast and inventory requirements into a feasible, time-phased supply plan for the assigned category portfolio.
- Determine order requirements by considering available inventory, open purchase orders, supplier lead times, safety stock, service levels, minimum order quantities, order multiples and sourcing constraints.
- Review system-generated order recommendations in Relex and apply operational judgement where recommendations do not reflect current supply conditions or approved commercial requirements.
- Place, release, amend, expedite or defer purchase orders within delegated authority and monitor their progression through confirmation, shipment and receipt.
- Maintain supply plans in line with the agreed planning calendar and communicate material changes, risks and implications to relevant stakeholders.

Parameter Management and System Governance:

- Maintain approved supply planning parameters in Relex, including lead times, review cycles, safety stock settings, service levels, order multiples, minimum order quantities and sourcing rules.
- Review the effectiveness of supply parameters and recommend changes where settings are contributing to shortages, excess inventory or unnecessary manual intervention.
- Identify master data issues, system defects and transaction failures affecting supply planning and coordinate their resolution with accountable teams.
- Maintain accurate order, parameter, exception and approval records in accordance with delegated authority levels, internal controls and audit requirements.
- Contribute to improvements in supply planning processes, system capability and automated order recommendations.

Supplier Performance and Exception Management:

- Monitor supplier order confirmations, production timing, shipment dates, lead-time performance and expected delivery outcomes.
- Manage supply exceptions, including backorders, overdue purchase orders, short shipments, supplier capacity constraints, delivery amendments and failed order transactions.
- Develop and coordinate recovery plans for material shortages, including order acceleration, revised delivery schedules and supply prioritization.
- Evaluate alternative supply responses and coordinate approval with Category, Sourcing or other accountable teams where commercial supplier decisions are required.
- Work with suppliers, International Logistics, Distribution Centers, Transport and EDI teams to resolve shipment,



receiving and transaction issues.
- Provide timely visibility of material supply constraints, recovery actions and residual risks.

Availability, Working Capital and Event Readiness:

- Monitor projected inventory, inbound supply, product availability, stock cover, stockturn, excess stock, ageing inventory and end of life exposure.
- Adjust the supply response to balance product availability with working capital requirements and inventory risk.
- Partner with Demand Planners to understand forecast changes and with Inventory Planners to align inbound supply with store and channel inventory requirements.
- Retain accountability for the supply response while demand forecasting remains with Demand Planning and store and channel allocation remains with Inventory Planning.
- Develop supply readiness plans for promotions, seasonal events, product launches, range transitions and store network changes.
- Confirm supplier capacity, lead times, order deadlines and delivery timing for significant events and initiate corrective action where execution differs from plan.
- Represent the supply response in relevant planning forums, communicating constraints, mitigation options and unresolved trade-offs.

- Supplier and exception management: Identifies supply risks early and coordinates timely recovery actions to minimise disruption.
- System integrity and governance: Maintains accurate supply parameters, order records and decision documentation within delegated authority.

Essential:

- 3+ years of experience in supply planning, supply chain, demand planning, inventory management, or a comparable role.
- A tertiary qualification in supply chain, logistics, operations, business or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience managing supplier orders, replenishment parameters and supply exceptions within a retail, consumer goods or comparable high-volume environment.
- Strong understanding of lead times, safety stock, service levels, minimum order quantities, order multiples and inventory planning principles.
- Proficiency in advanced planning systems, enterprise resource planning platforms, Excel and operational reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage supply disruptions and coordinate practical recovery plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, including the ability to assess supply, availability and inventory trade-offs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across suppliers, logistics and commercial planning teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and make timely decisions within delegated authority.

Preferred:

- Practical experience with SAP ERP or enterprise-level order processing platforms
- Familiarity with Power BI or comparable reporting and analytics tools
- Experience working in high-SKU retail environments, office products, or quick-moving consumer goods.
