Specific duties and responsibilities

Import, Procurement & Supply Chain Management

- Coordinate end-to-end import operations from overseas suppliers to India.
- Coordinate with overseas vendors regarding purchase orders, shipment schedules, documentation and delivery timelines.
- Manage international shipping documentation and coordinate with freight forwarders and CHA/customs agents. (Should be able to check all import documents thoroughly like BL, COO, Invoice, BOE etc)
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms
- Track shipments, customs clearance, delivery schedules and shipment-related costs.
- Coordinate procurement requirements based on demand, inventory levels and lead times.
- Monitor SKU-wise inventory, stock cover, replenishment requirements and stock availability.
- Coordinate with warehouse and distribution teams for timely receipt, storage and dispatch of products.
- Monitor slow-moving, excess, ageing and near-expiry inventory.
- Ensure proper batch and expiry management and adherence to FEFO/FIFO practices.
- Coordinate with Sales and Business teams to ensure uninterrupted product availability

Vendor Management

- Coordination and tracking of SLAs for forwarders, CHAs, Transport vendors
- Processing marine,

- Daily tracking and coordination with all the SCM vendors

Warehouse & Distribution Management

- Monitor inventory control, physical stock-taking and system reconciliation.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics partners for smooth movement of products.
- Monitor stock transfers, delivery schedules and pending orders.
- Coordinate with billing/accounts teams for timely invoicing and order processing.
- Manage product returns, damaged stock and expiry-related issues.
- Ensure proper documentation and control of warehouse and distribution activities

Reporting & Compliance

- Prepare MIS reports related to procurement, imports, logistics costs, inventory, dispatches and vendor performance.
- Maintain regular reports on stock levels, stock ageing, expiry, pending orders and shipment status.
- Monitor procurement and logistics expenditure and support cost control initiatives.
- Maintain accurate import, inventory and supply chain documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable statutory requirements and audit requirements.




- Provide regular updates and analysis to management on supply chain performance and exceptions.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Solid expertise in import operations, procurement, logistics and supply chain management.
- Good understanding of international trade documentation and customs procedures.
- Strong understanding of inventory and warehouse management
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, follow-up and vendor management skills.
- Very strong proficiency in MS Excel and working with numbers.
- Good understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycles.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including communication with overseas stakeholders.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environment.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field.
- MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics or International Business will be preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in imports, procurement, logistics, supply chain, warehouse or distribution management.
- Experience in handling overseas suppliers and international logistics will be preferred.
- Experience in FMCG, Food, Pharma, Pet Food or another import-led business will be an advantage.
