Job Role: Manager - Supply Chain

Department: Procurement & Supply Chain

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the supply chain & procurement covering raw materials, consumables, packaging, spares, and services in compliance with explosives manufacturing regulations, especially under PESO, ensuring timely availability of materials for production, cost optimization, and vendor development to support both domestic and export markets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Procurement Planning

- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with production and export schedules.
- Forecast material requirements for explosive raw materials (e.g., Ammonium Nitrate, Emulsifiers, Detonator Components, etc.).
- Ensure cost-effective procurement within defined lead times and inventory norms.

2. Vendor Management & Development

- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.




- Monitor vendor performance on quality, compliance, and delivery KPIs.

3. Regulatory & PESO Compliance

- Ensure procurement of materials and chemicals is in accordance with PESO, Explosives Rules, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain documentation for purchase of licensed materials as per Form AE, LE, and licensing conditions.
- Liaise with PESO authorities for permissions related to sourcing and handling sensitive materials.

4. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

- Coordinate with production, stores, QA/QC, maintenance, and logistics for end-to-end procurement planning.
- Engage with customs, freight forwarders, and DGFT for import/export-related sourcing, if applicable.

5. Systems & Documentation

- Maintain accurate and real-time data in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Tally).
- Ensure timely generation of purchase orders, GRNs, vendor invoices, and advance payment controls.
- Prepare reports on material cost trends, supplier scorecards, and procurement savings.
