ABOUT US:

Join a team that is redefining the accessibility of space. Azista space is a transformative force in the global aerospace sector, uniquely positioned at the intersection of indigenous innovation and industrial scalability. Operating India’s first private-sector satellite mass-production facility in Ahmedabad, we have bridged the gap between complex engineering and high-volume manufacturing.

As a vertically integrated leader, we provide end-to-end solutions from the precision design of satellite buses and advanced payloads to mission management and communication systems. We don’t just build hardware, we are democratizing the final frontier by providing global clientele with the cost-effective, high-performance technology needed to power the next generation of orbital missions. At Azista, you won't just be starting a job, you’ll be fuelling the future of space exploration.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for an analytical, hands-on Structural Engineer (Satellite Systems) to take structural ownership of our primary and secondary spacecraft bus structures, payload mounts, and deployment mechanisms. Based at our spacecraft engineering hub in Bengaluru , you will guide structures through the complete lifecycle from early conceptual sizing and finite element modeling (FEM/FEA) to rigorous vibration testing and launch vehicle qualification.

In this role, you will be the core technical owner of spacecraft structural integrity. You will directly drive mission-critical metrics: maintaining positive margins of safety (MoS) across all launch load environments, managing mass budgets to sub-gram margins, and achieving first-pass environmental test qualification across domestic and international launch vehicles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Primary & Secondary Structural Sizing: Design lightweight, flight-ready satellite structures, electronic enclosures, optical payload mounts,

and solar array substrates using 3D CAD tools.
- Advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Execute detailed static (linear/nonlinear), modal, random vibration, harmonic response, shock (SRS), and thermo-elastic stress analyses across multi-body spacecraft models.
- Margin of Safety (MoS) Verification: Deliver rigorous stress analysis reports and hand calculations validating positive margins for yield, ultimate, buckling, and fatigue across all launch operational regimes.
- Launch Vehicle Environmental Compliance: Translate Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA), quasi-static acceleration envelopes, and launch vehicle user manuals (e.g., PSLV, SSLV, Falcon 9) into actionable structural requirements.
- Space-Grade Materials & DFM: Drive material selection across space-grade alloys (Al 6061-T6/7075-T7351, Ti-6Al-4V) and lightweight composite sandwich panels (CFRP/honeycomb cores), collaborating closely with precision CNC and additive manufacturing partners.
- AIT & Dynamic Testing Execution: Define shaker table test plans, specify sensor instrumentation layouts (accelerometers, strain gauges), design rigid test fixtures, and correlate post-test data with analytical FE models.
- Mission Lifecycle Reviews: Author comprehensive structural engineering documentation and defend analyses at formal design milestones, including PDR, CDR, and TRR.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR?

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Structural Engineering.
- Experience:

2 to 6 years of focused structural engineering and FEA experience, with a solid footprint in satellite, aerospace, or defense flight hardware.
- FEA & Simulation Tools: High proficiency in industry-standard solvers and pre/post-processors such as Altair HyperMesh, MSC Nastran/Patran, ANSYS Mechanical, Abaqus, or Femap/Simcenter.
- 3D CAD Expertise: Hands-on modeling proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or PTC Creo.
- Solid Mechanics Fundamentals: Rock-solid grasp of strength of materials, structural dynamics, vibration theory, failure criteria, and thin-walled/composite structures.
- Aerospace Standards: Practical working knowledge of space qualification standards (ECSS-E-ST-32C, NASA-STD-5001/5002, or ISRO qualification guidelines).

NICE-TO-HAVES:

- Direct experience running dynamic shaker table qualification campaigns (sine sweep, random vibration, acoustic, pyro-shock) and modal survey correlation.
- Exposure to thermo-elastic distortion analysis and micro-vibration/jitter analysis for optical and RF line-of-sight payloads.
- Experience designing kinematic mounts, bipods, or flexures for opto-mechanical assemblies.

WHY JOIN US ?

- Direct Flight Impact: What you design and analyze will undergo environmental testing, integrate with launch systems, and operate in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
- True Mass-Production Scale: Work at the intersection of traditional space engineering and agile high-volume manufacturing, solving challenges unique to constellation-scale production.
- Cross-Disciplinary Autonomy: Collaborate directly with top-tier systems, thermal, avionics, and payload engineers with minimal corporate red tape.
- Comprehensive Compensation & Perks: Competitive industry salary, comprehensive family healthcare perks, and strong professional growth pathways in India’s expanding commercial space sector.
