Set up the central store
- Plan storage locations for plates, pipes, structural steel, fabrication consumables, mechanical and electrical components, OEM products, spares, and finished goods.
- Create item codes, descriptions, units of measurement, storage locations, and opening stock records in the inventory system.
- Identify, count, label, and record existing materials and finished goods before bringing them into the central store.
- Establish practical procedures for material receipt, inspection, issue, return, transfer, stock counting, and dispatch.
- Organize secure storage and handling arrangements for heavy materials and sensitive instruments.
Control inventory and project materials
- Receive materials against purchase orders and delivery documents. Verify quantities and visible condition, and arrange technical inspection where required.
- Record every receipt, issue, return, and transfer promptly. Track materials against projects, job cards, or approved requisitions.
- Maintain separate identification and records for customer-supplied materials, rejected materials, and finished goods awaiting dispatch.
- Conduct regular physical stock checks, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate stock balances.
- Monitor minimum stock levels, pending deliveries, shortages, and slow-moving or obsolete items. Share clear updates with purchase and production teams.
Handle purchases and purchase orders
- Make local purchases for approved production, maintenance, and project requirements within the company’s authorization limits.
- Obtain and compare quotations where required, check specifications with the requesting department, and maintain purchase records.
- Prepare and release purchase orders after the required internal approval. Follow up with suppliers on delivery dates and pending items.
- Submit supplier invoices and supporting documents to accounts,
and help resolve quantity or price discrepancies.
Maintain OEM and warranty records
- Build and maintain a list of OEM products used in DVT equipment, including manufacturer, model, part number, supplier, project allocation, serial number, and available purchase documents.
- Record warranty terms and the applicable warranty start and end dates. Verify whether each warranty begins from invoice, delivery, installation, commissioning, or another contractual milestone.
- Keep warranty certificates, invoices, manuals, and supplier contact details accessible for service and project teams.
- Alert the relevant team before warranties expire and support warranty claims with the required records.
Support production and dispatch
- Issue materials on time for fabrication, assembly, testing, and site work.
- Track completed equipment and project-specific finished goods in the central store.
- Verify dispatch items against approved packing lists and coordinate packing, loading, and dispatch documentation.
Candidate requirements
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in stores and inventory, preferably in machinery manufacturing, fabrication, or project-based engineering.
- Experience establishing or improving a store, including physical stock verification and creation of inventory records.
- Ability to identify common engineering materials, mechanical components, electrical items, and OEM products from specifications and part numbers.
- Working knowledge of inventory software or ERP and solid practical Excel skills.
- Experience with local purchasing, supplier follow-up, purchase orders, stock reconciliation, and dispatch records.
- Organized, accurate, and comfortable coordinating directly with the shop floor, suppliers, engineers, and accounts team.
Preferred: Experience with project-wise BOMs, material test certificates, serialized equipment, and warranty tracking. Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
