Location: Pune (Primary), with frequent travel to Mumbai
Reporting to: Head of Expansion / Business Head
Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and execution-focused Expansion Manager to drive retail expansion across the West region, with a primary focus on Pune and Mumbai. The role will be responsible for identifying and securing high-visibility retail/high street locations, conducting market benchmarking, and supporting store launch readiness in collaboration with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Location Scouting & Expansion
Identify and evaluate high-footfall, high-visibility retail/high street locations for new outlets
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential properties in Pune and Mumbai
Liaise with brokers, landlords, and developers to source prime locations
Conduct site visits and feasibility assessments (catchment, access, frontage, etc.)
Market Research & Benchmarking
Benchmark shortlisted locations against competing food/QSR brands in the vicinity
Analyze:
Brand mix and positioning
Customer profile and footfall trends
Pricing benchmarks and sales potential
Provide insights on market type (premium / mass / transit / residential) and expected business viability
Deal Evaluation & Closure Support
Assist in commercial negotiations including rent, CAM, revenue share, etc.
Prepare business cases for internal approvals
Coordinate with legal and finance teams for documentation and closure
Launch & Operations Support
Work closely with the Operations team to ensure smooth store launches
Coordinate on:
Handover timelines
Fit-out readiness
Pre-opening requirements
Act as a bridge between BD and Ops during new store setup
Relationship Management
Develop robust relationships with developers, mall management teams, and property consultants
Stay updated on upcoming retail developments and leasing opportunities
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of retail real estate and high street dynamics
Ability to evaluate footfall, catchment, and sales potential
Good negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Analytical mindset with a structured approach to decision-making
High ownership and on-ground execution capability
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Prior experience in QSR / F&B; / Retail expansion is highly preferred
Exposure to store operations or launch support will be an added advantage
Familiarity with Pune & Mumbai retail markets is a solid plus
