Key Responsibilities
Operate conventional Milling and Lathe machines efficiently and safely.
Perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, threading, grooving and other machining operations.
Carry out milling, slotting, keyway and other machining activities as required.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
Manufacture and modify patterns, tools, fixtures, dies and machine components.
Select appropriate cutting tools, cutters, speeds and feeds according to the job.
Perform machine setting, tool changing and basic troubleshooting.
Check dimensions using Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Gauge and other measuring instruments.
Maintain required accuracy and surface finish of components.
Coordinate with Tool Room, Pattern, Production and Maintenance teams.
Maintain machines, tools and work area in valuable condition.
Follow all safety, quality and housekeeping (5S) standards.
Required Skills
Hands-on experience in Lathe & Milling machine operation.
Knowledge of Tool Room / Pattern Shop activities.
Ability to understand engineering drawings.
Positive knowledge of measuring instruments and dimensional inspection.
Knowledge of different cutting tools and machining processes.
Ability to work independently and meet production requirements.
Qualification
ITI / Diploma – Mechanical / Tool & Die / Machinist / Fitter or equivalent.
