- Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources (manpower, materials, equipment) to maximize productivity.
- Budget Management: Monitor and control project costs to stay within budget (from QS).
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Singular Ownership: Drive the project to successful completion as per schedule and quality, including planning of resources and cash flows.
Quality Control
- Standards Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
- Inspection and Testing: Conduct regular inspections and oversee testing of materials and workmanship to ensure quality.
- Deficiency Management: Identify and rectify any deficiencies in the construction process promptly.
Site Operations
- Site Supervision: Oversee daily site operations, ensuring work is progressing as planned.
- Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that arise.
Coordination
- Client Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with clients regarding project status and issues.
- Maintain good and cordial relationship with the locals at the site location.
- Team Collaboration:
Foster a collaborative environment with all team members, including subcontractors and consultants.
- Reporting: Send daily/weekly progress reports to senior management and stakeholders on project status and any variations from schedule.
- Design Liaison: Keep the Design Team updated on all changes in detail and application; ensure site instructions/variations are translated into appropriate documentation (drawings/documents).
- External Liaison: Liaise with all external agencies at the site.
Documentation and Compliance
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and complete project documentation during all stages of the project.
- Permits and Approvals: Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained and complied with.
- Environmental Compliance: Adhere to environmental regulations and manage environmental impact.
- Billing Verification: Verify all subcontractor bills against work orders before forwarding to the head office (HO) for payment.
- Asset Custody: Act as custodian for all company assets and equipment rented/hired for the project.
Desired Applicant Profile
- Qualification: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering (full-time only)
- Minimum 16–20 years of experience in construction/civil engineering
- Willingness and capacity to learn and grow in a young organization
- Willingness to travel to site locations on a regular basis
- Knowledge and practical experience of using CAD and MS Office
- Positive oral and written English communication skills
- High energy levels and physical fitness to excel at both indoor and outdoor workplaces
