Reporting To: CTO/ MD The Opportunity In fintech, quality isn’t just a metric—it is the foundation of user trust and regulatory compliance. We are looking for an elite engineering leader to transform our Quality Assurance processes into a modern, proactive Quality Engineering (QE) culture.

With 12+ years of experience and deep roots in the financial technology sector, you know that a single bug in a payment rail or core ledger is unacceptable. You will architect our automation strategy, scale a world-class testing organization, and ensure that our mission-critical systems process high-volume, low-latency transactions with zero data loss, strict compliance, and absolute security.

The Impact You Will Drive

Protect the Ledger & Financial Rails

- Domain-Driven Testing: Design comprehensive test strategies for complex financial primitives: double-entry ledgers, payment gateways (UPI, ACH, SWIFT), reconciliation engines, and fraud-prevention logic.
- Regulatory & Security Compliance: Partner with InfoSec and Compliance teams to guarantee adherence to PCI-DSS, SOC2, GDPR, and localized banking regulations.
- Edge-Case Simulation: Champion the testing of race conditions, concurrent transaction processing,



and network partition failures to ensure system resilience during financial operations.

Drive Quality Engineering Transformation

- Shift-Left & CI/CD: Move the organization from reactive bug-finding to proactive quality engineering. Ensure test automation is a seamless, non-negotiable gate in our CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
- Automation Architecture: Guide the technical evolution of our test frameworks across Microservices/APIs, Web, and Mobile. Drive decisions on the right tools for the right job (Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, Appium).
- Performance & Chaos Engineering: Oversee rigorous load, stress, and volume testing for peak trading or transaction days. Introduce chaos engineering practices to test system recovery.

Build & Scale a High-Performing Team

- Organizational Leadership: Manage, mentor, and scale a global team of SDETs (Software Development Engineers in Test), QA Leads, and Manual Domain Experts.
- Culture of Excellence: Establish an engineering culture where developers and QE share responsibility for product quality.
- Data-Driven Execution: Define and publish key quality metrics (escape defect rate, test coverage, automation ROI, deployment frequency) to the executive team.

12+ years of progressive experience in software testing and quality engineering, with at least 5+ years managing teams of 10+ engineers.
- The Fintech Expert: 5+ years of embedded experience in Banking, Payments, WealthTech, or Lending. You natively understand financial workflows and the catastrophic risks of financial software failures.

- The Strategic Partner: Proven ability to sit at the table with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders to negotiate Go/No-Go release decisions confidently.

Technical Mastery

- Code & Architecture: You may not code daily, but you can review PRs, critique test framework architectures, and write SQL queries to validate complex data migrations.
- API & Cloud-Native: Deep expertise in testing distributed systems, microservices architectures, and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Tooling Agility: Highly fluent in modern automation stacks, performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, K6), and observability platforms (Datadog, Splunk, New Relic).
