Job Summary

The Senior Manager - Transportation &

- Logistics is responsible for leading end-to-end transportation and logistics operations for construction equipment across multiple project locations. The role ensures safe, timely, and cost-effective mobilization and demobilization of heavy equipment while optimizing fleet utilization, transportation planning, vendor performance, statutory compliance, and logistics costs. The incumbent works closely with Operations, SCM, Maintenance, Commercial, Finance, and Project teams to ensure seamless equipment deployment and customer satisfaction.

Reporting To

Head - Logistics / Director.

Key Responsibilities

- Transportation Planning &
- Fleet Management Lead transportation planning for equipment mobilization and demobilization. Optimize fleet utilization and transportation schedules. Monitor equipment movement, turnaround time, and logistics KPIs. Minimize equipment idle time through effective planning.

- Heavy Equipment Logistics Manage transportation of cranes, piling rigs, excavators, boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, graders, compactors, and other heavy equipment. Plan routes considering permits, bridge capacities, and ODC requirements. Ensure safe loading, unloading, and secure transportation.

- Vendor &

- Contract Management Develop and manage transport vendors across regions. Negotiate freight rates and transportation contracts. Monitor transporter performance, SLA compliance, and service quality. Ensure cost-effective logistics solutions.

- Compliance &

- Safety Ensure compliance with RTO regulations, permits, insurance,



road taxes, and statutory requirements. Coordinate ODC approvals and transportation documentation. Implement EHS standards and conduct transportation risk assessments. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

- Cost Control &

- Logistics Optimization Prepare and manage transportation budgets. Monitor freight costs and identify cost-saving opportunities. Improve transportation efficiency through route and resource optimization. Ensure budget adherence without compromising service quality.

- Team Leadership &

- Operational Excellence Lead and develop logistics and transportation teams. Establish KPIs, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement. Standardize logistics processes and implement best practices. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

- Cross-Functional Coordination &

- MIS Coordinate with Operations, SCM, Maintenance, Finance, Commercial, and Project teams for timely equipment deployment. Ensure customer commitments are met through effective logistics execution. Prepare logistics MIS, fleet utilization reports, transportation cost analysis, and management dashboards.



Present logistics performance and improvement plans to senior management.

Qualifications

- Experience: 15+ Years

- BE/B.Tech (Mechanical/Automobile/Civil) or Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering

- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Logistics (Preferred)
