To inspect garments during and after the sewing process, identify defects, ensure workmanship meets quality standards, and prevent defective garments from moving to the next production stage.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect sewn garments for stitching and workmanship defects.
Check seams, stitches, thread tension, SPI, seam allowance, and construction as per specifications.
Identify defects such as:
Open seams
Broken or skipped stitches
Uneven stitching
Loose threads
Puckering
Wrong attachment
Needle holes
Uneven hems
Measurement deviations
Stains and other workmanship defects
Compare garments with approved samples, tech packs, specifications, and quality standards.
Conduct inline and end-line inspection as required.
Segregate defective garments and ensure they are sent for correction/rework.
Communicate quality problems to sewing operators, supervisors, and the QC team.
Maintain inspection records and defect reports.
Monitor recurring defects and report them to the Quality Supervisor.
Ensure corrected garments are rechecked before passing them to the next process.
Follow factory quality procedures, safety requirements, and production guidelines.
Support the quality team in reducing rejection and rework.
Required Skills

Qualification & Experience
Minimum 10th/12th standard or equivalent; garment-related training is an advantage.
Previous experience in garment quality checking is preferred.
Freshers with basic garment/sewing knowledge may also be considered.
